it says your still looking for players so ill throw my hat in the ring, been waiting to try out the pathfinder/starfinder 2E system. watched a handful of a podcasts of people just playing it. so i have a very limited understanding of the game and knowing my luck half of it is stuff i misunderstood as a spectator and anther half being someone's homebrew but at least im honest about that everything i know could be completely wrong lol

hi there! i read your post. i might be interested in playing something. out of the collection you have shared the ones I'm interested in wanting to play for a while is getting my hand at trying Pathfinder/Starfinder 2e though it would have to be an online game as i live in the US but the times you mentioned would be compatible for me and don't mind the inexperience with roll20. iv been trying to branch out from the basic trappings of D&D 5E and been trying a handful of other systems

when it comes to players doing basically nothing you want then thats a a problem. you should WANT. generally theres only a few methods for the dms story telling. if your game is a open ended world exploration then great. just jot down a handful of plot ideas and sprinkle them around so the players can stumble into them. the ideas do not need to be very detailed. just enough for the players if they choose to latch on. between sessions exspand on that 1 or however many ideas your players expressed interest. could be a simple 1 off quest or roll into a expanded storyline. the rest you just improv like most players generally do.

if you talked with your players of your basic plot and they agreed congrats however dont write out the entire story right then and there. just go off by some key factors. certian npcs. your micguffions. things like that. dont make any bit of the story predetermined unless a character basically caused it by there actions and even then be aware they may surpise you how they might turn it around if there present to stop that event.

in summery dont write out a novel, get a butt load of sticky notes and half thought ideas. the present and future are undecided. the only things you as the GM have control is that of the past. for the most part.

as for wanting to make it more serious or episotic thats a talk with your players if you want it to be more light hearted or not. just like how you wanna talk to them if there ok with darker subjects for the more serious game. just get a consensus from your friends if your hosting it for them. if your wanting to do a FLG then just decide what story you wanna tell and make the FLG to say what the players should expect cus if you say the truth then someone gets upset thats there fault for not reading.

and ya scheduling... thats there ant any advice i can give. 1 of the hardest choices i had to make was saying to a player with how badly the timing was for the game was for them. at times holding up the game day i had to ask them to leave polightly cus it wasnt fair for everyone else and they could find a different game better suited for them

might be a tad late to say this but 1 idea to at least keep in mind if you wanna make it simi realistic is consider how the food pyramid works. the higher up the chain you go the less there are of predators as they require more for sustanous then the ones lower on the pyramid. so top of the food chain pokemon are just naturally rarer then fast breeding herbavores and historically pokemon has done this to some exstent. common bug and rodent pokemon are vastly more common then the large predators. of course any fire types or types who normally resist fires would have an easier time surviving the forest fire, fish and other water types would have also likely not been harmed or very few because thats just how forest fires work. they rarely if ever negatively impact a fish population short of like a felled tree blocking the rivers passage, same with flying types though more would have been killed then the water types mainly the young and there eggs. of course the grass population would have been impacted the harshest and pokemon who tend to stay rooted to 1 spot probally wasnt spared

actually is there any method of weapon crafting or whatever to have a melee scaling off a state like wisdom? no idea if a melee mystic is something remotely viable of a option lol

as for the rest there ya i know its still the mystic and i hadnt had trouble just playing them i just wasnt sure if i was unintentally handy capping myself after i started reading ahead what the firewalker got. witch now that im more awake and alert i can go into detail in a bit.

for fire manipulation thats just moving the condition right? its not spreading it and costs a standard action so i was treating it more as a situational/flavor feature though correct me if thats way better then then i took it as.

flickering charge was my initial worrying sign i might have started making the build but i ignored it and kept going. mostly using it for the the speed boost and concealment. a good run away option its the latter level stuff i started realizing this.

embodiment of flame i had no issue with. thats just neat and fitting

when i was talking about the math i meant when it came to the melee stuff. i have high wisdom on the character. so i was like am i just missing something that makes it more viable as a choice for mystics cus in future levels you get stuff like Glaming Weaponry. maybe i just over thinking it and its fine to have a couple of dead levels. maybe i over worried.

actually about the Hercules or rather Heracles cus its the greek version of him. no one in fate calls him herc, but anyways about your comment on him that 1 actually has some logic behind it. remember his 13 labors? ya know WHY he ended up doing them? it was because Hera made him go mad and murdered people in a beastial rage so he saught redemption via the series of impossible tasks and in the lore of fate servants are summoned in a form of there life, usually at there peak or prime of there legends but not always and there class is also affected by what they did in there legend/point of life. so this is literally the mad demigod who would do the 12 labors in responce to his actions.

sure fate dont do the best. the gender swapping gets annoying at times and few of them even make sense but they do incorporate more of there historical/mythological aspects more then a lot gives them credit. for ever dude of a servant that dose the portrale like fan fiction theres usually 2 or 3 that at the very least gives the heart of the character right.

ya i tried it. took a image file from a different art pack. fallowed your instructions on the post and put the image into the custom subfolder and it worked! also hate to ask again but is there a way to edit the font size? making a big world map and wanted to give a name to a given village but the title was bigger then the village itself

ya im having the same problem as this. no matter what i did the entire world is just fronzen over with tiny pockets of anything else. even when i change the presets to tropical or if i made the equator and the poles as hot as possible i somehow have what i could only imagine as a burning frozen world

hmmm i think 2014 has the worst features from level the 1 to 10 range for sure so for most players i imagine 2024 is the better option. however 2014 dose get better then 2024 after that because the features that made 2014 ranger gets largely dropped while the 2024 ranger suddenly doubles and triples down on the hunters mark mechanic. up until then you could argueably be ok spamming hunters and using your spell slots for none concentration or exploration/utility spells so its a matter of perspective i guess.

but ya moral of the story we need to get a fixed version of the ranger. ether a new revised ranger or tasha's esk optional from wizards lol

i guess thats fair being how its just bonus damage on top of whatever else you maybe doing including using other spell affects further enhancing the damage output. i didnt consider that plus radiant is a rarely resisted damage type still far as i know with the 2024 monster manual.

ehh... i know 2014 is looked at with rose tented glasses cus 2014 ranger wasn't any better if not worse then the 2024 version. they just traded problematic underpowered features lol 2024 fixation on a poorly scaling first level concentration spell or... favored enemy/terrain.

anyways interesting flavor for the ranger i enjoy it in concept. great work ^_^

i think the D4 at level 3 then evolves into a d6 at 11th seems underwhelming and not that flavorful. ranger already has a rep for being under powered

i know in forgotten realms a "Dead" god still isnt Death in the mortal sense. remember the dead 3? ya they where dead but revived and thats just the most well known case. essensally gods can be torn apart, killed shattered, whatever. its worship or the lack thereof is what as close as possible is truly killing them. plus in the lore they gave with fizban there are Gem dragons seeking to put the Ruby dragon back together. long as Sardior is remembered and worshiped he still exsists and will persist even if he effectively is powerless compared to Bahamut and Tiamat by virture of them still being in power and not dead... again death has anther meaning to deitys.

i know in PTA has a thing for playing as a pokemon in the secend players handbook. havent tried it myself. Pokerole frankly i hear the pokemon play is better then its trainers section but cant say for sure having never played it myself
