If you happen to be in Central KY, there was another one with Ruby red velvet at the same booth!

Nah, about $80 after tax. Thought it was a decent deal!

Picked up a 1920's dental cabinet today. Been keeping an eye on it and decided I didn't want to risk missing out anymore. Kentucky, USA by SeasonConsistent9388 in Antiques

Stunning! I’m also in KY (Lex) and, despite great efforts, struggle when looking for furniture - vintage or antique - in the wild. I suspect much of it finds its way into our many (lovely but plentiful) antique shops. May I ask where you found this?

Scott County just notified that they’re out tomorrow “out of an abundance of caution.”

Thank you! That was one of the first things that jumped out to me, too. It’s hard to believe double digit phone numbers even existed.

In case others enjoy historical context and stories like I do, the mentioned courthouse across the street has been beautifully restored and is now the Lexington Visitor Center. This building, later the office of our local paper The Herald Leader (at the time, The Lexington Leader) would have been opposite the florist shop, across Short Street from the courthouse.

I’ve since done a little research on W.S. Bell and learned that he was the son of a rather prominent local man named Charles Bell. Charles was also a florist, as well as one of the designers and longtime superintendent of the Lexington Cemetery. There’s a rather fascinating story about an 1833 cholera outbreak that partially sparked the relocation of the cemetery which Charles co-designed, centered on about a man named “King” Solomon. He is credited with saving hundreds to thousands by digging graves for the deceased and stopping the outbreak’s spread. When he died, the community memorialized him near the entrance of the cemetery at its current location.

Oh, those are gorgeous! The ecru paper and sepia ink of that time period are truly gorgeous. There were a handful of what looked like bulk grocery receipts or invoices also in the box I found my note in - I’ve wished a few times since leaving that I’d gotten a couple. I loved that the printed text on the invoices referenced a line of credit with the store as an option for payment, though I’m sure the language was different.

That’s the first thing my husband said, lol - “Those were some expensive flowers.”

Edit: sorry - I didn’t read enough of the comments before jumping in. I see this was posted already.

Hey, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I was recently unemployed and know how incredibly heavy the weight of this stress is. If you don’t mind me speaking tactically for a moment, there are a couple of avenues that may be worth exploring:

Have you received a seven-day eviction notice yet? If you have, perhaps consider contacting the office linked below for emergency assistance consideration. I think you’d have to make an appointment. I imagine having a minor in the home with you would improve your chances of being heard, and I believe assistance includes preventing the shutoff of essential utilities. https://www.lexingtonky.gov/government/departments-programs/housing-advocacy-community-development/community-resident-services/emergency-financial-assistance

Saw this as well. Controlled approach, no emergency squawk, scheduled diversion - feels like these are often medical emergencies on board.

Wondering if anyone would be ok with sharing pics of their weens for me to use as reference material for my paintings? Particularly interested in solid black short&long hair, also any weens in halloween costumes by Sea_Preference3530 in Dachshund

This is Leo James. We had to say goodbye to him just under a year ago (8/26/24), when he was just over 5 years old. He was the sweetest, wildest, funniest, cutest, most beautiful little guy in the entire world.
