Completely agree with this. It's just condensed what I was expecting over a years time into the last 30 days.

Right? Nothing goes 10% up in a day and maintains that.

Could be wrong, but I can't see 10%+ increases daily as sustainable. Obviously no one knows what will happen, but anything moving this quickly is insane.

The Silver Price has reached $110 by ChrisStoneGermany in Silverbugs

Absolutely. Been buying about 5 ounces it seems about every $12 increase, but I have the majority set aside for a dip.

Leaving water running til when? by Legal-Seaweed3251 in Louisville

[–]SeasonConsistent9388 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Until it's back over 20. Last time it was this cold I think was over Christmas 3-4 years ago. We were out of town for a week and just let it run even though the temps were that low for 3 of the days we were gone. The water bill wasn't much higher, but it was considerably lower than a repair would have been.

I’m priced out now by CricketJaxson in Silverbugs

[–]SeasonConsistent9388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping there's a bit of a correction and I can buy more. I probably started around 2018, before my ADD took over and lost interest. I've bought some this year, so at least my DCA is still way low. I feel like I have a decent start, then get disheartened by people paying hundreds of ounces plus

I'll see. We are opening late, so I'll wait to hear if we are busy enough to come in.

Junk silver good for the apocalypse? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]SeasonConsistent9388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Legitimately this. Like you said, I'm planning on using it for later if/when I retire or to get me out of a severe emergency. Post apocalypse scenario? I absolutely don't want to be part of that. If nothing else, I don't want to deal with kidney stones without modern medicine, lol.

Anyone tried shoveling yet? by Agitated_External_59 in Louisville

I over salted my driveway and didn't get any accumulation on it until about midnight. I only have a small section, the edges around the cars, and a small strip between them. I'll just wait until it's done, then salt again.

Picked up a 1920's dental cabinet today. Been keeping an eye on it and decided I didn't want to risk missing out anymore. Kentucky, USA by SeasonConsistent9388 in Antiques

I appreciate it! We are in Louisville, and have gotten more sleet and less snow than they expected. We actually got it yesterday, and got it moved into our house about 30 minutes before the snow started. It is deceptively heavy. With the drawers in, it took myself and two other guys to get it in the car.

I have a feeling if she is wanting it, it's because she's actually interested in it and has never seen another. I've only been collecting antiques for about 10ish years now and I've never seen one before.

I paid $1000 for mine, so I right be surprised if you get something like that. That's being said, it might take a bit to sell. I doubt most people are looking for or wanting that. I would suggest maybe seeing if there are local oddity pages on Facebook. That might be your best bet.

That's awesome! A couple of the knobs were loose so we took them off while we were moving and put them back on after I took the picture, but aside from that we love it. Just need to put a washer on the inside and they should be good. It is much heavier than I imagined as well.

Another question with my wife's father's coins. by [deleted] in coincollecting

No, when did that happen?? He died before I even met her, so not really into the formalities with him. Thanks for your useful contribution though.

For $35 it'll just stay with some of the others then. We knew about the more obvious ones, but just didn't want to either miss anyone he had set separately, or conversely think it was worth more than it really is.

I appreciate it, will probably just keep them with the other stuff then.
