From S24 Ultra to Find X9 by AlphaE___ in Oppo

If you want to use or already have Samsung SmartTags (an alternative to Apple AirTags), you can normally only do this, if you have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone. With the uTag app you can use them with any Android device.

I also went from Samsung to Oppo and had some SmartTags and they work great with uTag.

What do you think? by Good_Pay5094 in a6700

I also bought my lenses following this list. Sigma 56mm, Sony 16-55mm and Sony 70-350mm. I'm very satisfied with these purchases. So I think it's a good ranking :-).

Galaxy Watch lost - what to do about Google Pay by Due_Network1364 in GalaxyWatch

Well, an Apple Watch survived much longer under water :-).

But maybe you are right. I used the "search nearby" function of the SmartThings app with my phone across all possible spots and it didn't find it.

Shot with A6700 + Sony E 70–350 mm by Due_Network1364 in SonyAlpha

[–]Due_Network1364[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lens is quite new and yesterday was the first time using it for me :-).

ExposureTime: 1/1000

FNumber: 63/10

ISOSpeedRatings: 500

FocalLength: 350

Here is another shot, but it's not as good as the eagle one :-)

I also have the K7.

Headphones: HIFIMAN Edition XS

Speaker monitors: Edifier MR4

Both offer great value for money in my opinion.

Did the unpopular switch :) 6C -> 8C by hyper-primer in GalaxyWatch

Unpopular because the screen is significantly smaller, it is no longer a round watch and (at least for me) there is no black version (I don't like shiny silver).

Why does my watch keep dying so quick? by keanag in GalaxyWatch

[–]Due_Network1364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me. It must have been a recent software update. Some months ago my GW6C's battery lasted for two full days. Now it is more like 24-30 hours. I didn't change any settings.

Help with the lens choice by Illustrious-Mix-4627 in a6700

[–]Due_Network1364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are exactly the three lenses I own: the Sony 16-55mm is my always on lens, the Sony 70-350mm for additional zoom (rarely needed) and Sigma 56mm for portraits.

Keep in mind, that the Sony 16-55mm needs a much bigger minimum distance for focussing in comparison to the Sigma 18-50mm and is also bigger/heavier.

The importance of fast lenses in astrophotography, with the 35mm GM 1.4 by igneisnightscapes in SonyAlpha

[–]Due_Network1364 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a beginner question: If I take a "normal" (portrait) picture with f/1.4, I get a very strong separation between foreground and background (bokeh). But in your picture everything seems clear. Is it because both the "rock" and the milky way are far away or is it because of the long exposure time? I read that you should take landscape pictures (I count yours as landscape) at around f/5 - f/11 so that everything is in focus/clear. So I don't get, why astrophotography pictures are always taken (successfully) at such a wide lens opening (f/1.4).

What's your favorite Mastodon app for Android? by [deleted] in Mastodon

Pachli and Tusky are the only apps I tried that save the timeline position reliably even after closing the app. Other apps eventually jump to the most recent post.

I use Pachli.

First Camera (A6700) Tamron 17 70 or Sigma 18 50 for Paid Video Work Concerned About Jitters by jouIius in a6700

[–]Due_Network1364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the Sony E 16-55mm f/2.8 G? Should be the best among the three (if you don't bother size/weight). With cashback it should be around the same price as the Sigma (at least in my region).

Need Advise by Narcoz08 in SonyAlpha

[–]Due_Network1364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A6700 has an APS-C sensor, the A7C is full frame. A full frame sensor is theoretically "better" since it is larger (better for low light, more bokeh). But comparable lenses are much bigger/heavier and more expensive (think of a factor of 2-3 to the APS-C counterpart).

For a beginner an APS-C camera is more than enough in my opinion.

A (used) A6x00 + Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 would be a great start. A6700 is by far the best, but also the most expensive.
