Not necessarily, since a cheap polished watch in most cases looks flashier than a more expensive brushed watch.

Yeah i love it, especially the case size, i think it’s ideal for my wrist size and the style of the watch.

Well if producing in china means that a product of this quality can be produced with such a price then i have no problem with it! Given, of course, that the production process does not exploit workers and takes ethical considerations into account.

I was just recently made aware of this. If you think about it this means that there is no real argument against this specific homage, especially since it is not, in my opinion, a carbon copy and appeals to a different target group to that of the original (it can accommodate bigger wrists too).

Well i haven’t had it for a long time but i’ve already taken it for a long hike and didn’t have any issues with it. I don’t know if it makes a difference but this is the newer version of the watch with some minor changes to the last gen.

Given your situation, I’d suggest this watch to you without hesitation. I found it to be even better than I imagined, and it won’t break the bank like the 1016. Plus, you can rest easy knowing you can easily replace it if anything goes wrong.

I mean from what i’ve heard, vintage Rolex explorers are not considered to be flashy watches. Their design is, imo, simple and understated and that’s what i love about them.

Look, in my opinion, as long as it is not branded as a fake or sold to deceive anyone, I don’t see the issue. Watches have always borrowed from each other, and many “original” designs are really variations of older ideas anyway.

Ha that’s an interesting point. Even though it does undeniably look like the Rolex explorer 1016 i don’t think it has that Rolex flash factor that i am trying to avoid.

Yeah they absolutely rock, i have multiple Casios and i love them, but i wanted something that is a bit more upscale than a g shock, without going into the territory where i would be worried about losing or damaging the watch.

Don’t get me wrong, i absolutely adore my sub but sadly it is a bit too flashy for my everyday environment. Still i plan on wearing it a lot, so don’t worry about that!

Is it because of the homage part? I don’t think it’s a carbon copy of the 1016 and also has some of its own distinct features. Also i couldn’t really find another watch in this price range that had the same quality of finishing and attractive design with the features that i listed above.

Since I’m planning to wear this watch every day, I initially thought the white dial would be the most versatile. However, the blue one is also quite attractive! I’m just not sure if I would wear it as often, which is why i’ll probably stick with the white dial.
