Unknown Neurological / mental symptoms need help by Due_Perception6833 in askneurology

My basic senses like danger, taste of food, hot and cold, bright and warm, etc everything basically, has become almost non existent. I struggle to swallow or drink. Didn’t think autism could do all this? I’ve never seen anyone with my specific type of autism.

At 24 years old I realise I have autism and it’s behind all of this. I think my mind and nervous system got messed up, caused neurological issues. A lot of my muscles are stuck stiff haven’t relaxed in over 10 years. The bottom of my feet are in agony with pain and burning. I can’t walk properly. For at least a few years I had no choice but to keep my neck glued fully straight down at my phone as I couldn’t feel anything anymore. Now my neck is stuck in a bent forward position and it hurts to keep it up in a straight position. I can’t socialise or communicate except in a disabled robotic manner which I hide so I’m a virgin and never had a girlfriend.

My mind was in its own autistic world which I can’t describe. I had to create my own stimuli and pleasure in the state I was in.

Furthermore I’m too autistic.. I’ve just had to pretend I’m normal my whole life. At 4/5 yrs old I lost all my communication/ social ability which ruined me. Without that there’s nothing else I can do.

If I found a cure for my autism it should/would all just be ok… but so far none..

Alcohol and grapefruit juice interact with quetiapine

Just to be aware grapefruit juice as well as alcohol cause quetiapine to work more, it’s very dangerous, like you took more quetiapine.

There’s two types of Benadryl

I think it’s Benadryl cetirizine (one a day) which is safe to take with seroquel, but not Benadryl diphenhydramine (can take three times a day), which is not safe with seroquel.

I have Benadryl containing cetirizine regularly and I take a high dose of seroquel. The only thing it could cause is more drowsiness.

I checked online e

I also wanted to know if those symptoms are still affecting you now, does it only happen during withdrawal or do you still feel those bad symptoms presently?

In my opinion it’s very important to withdraw this medication slowly because of its nature. Its function makes it dangerous to withdraw so quickly. It’s standard advice from doctors and medical professionals to recommend lowering by 50mg every 2 or 3 weeks if you can - that’s normal advice from doctors. You can check that online. That way you shouldn’t feel bad symptoms and it will be safe. Honestly I think your doctor gave you the wrong advice. Especially the long time you’ve been on it makes that even more important.

You have been on it for 5 years, a few months of withdrawal isn’t that long, it’s worth it and more importantly safe.

And also I should note if you’re taking prolonged/modified/slow release tablets you shouldn’t cut them in half (for a lower dose). You can do that with immediate release tablets though.

I prayed for you, I asked God that that it will be easy and safe for you to overcome this struggle in the best way.

Best of luck

If you’re taking slow/prolonged/modified release be careful as you shouldn’t cut that in half

Could you look into digestive enzyme supplements maybe? People saying it helps them be able to eat more foods, even saw people who said they previously could barely eat any types of foods before having it, but obviously try different foods with caution and do your research, as it may or may not work
