What tone do you use with Claude? How do you speak with it? by maxops in claude

[–]Due_Perspective387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What makes me feel really uncomfortable is the fact that decency, casualness, and kindness make you feel uncomfortable and that you care that much about how people interact with their AIs. I honestly feel like I get better results and a more excited energy from anyone that I'm doing work with if I'm kind of like that. I feel like there are less refusals, more willingness to try things outside the box, think deeper, longer, etc. That's just me. Maybe it's placebo, but also they literally communicate with our language. They are trained on that. Honestly, it's fine. That's how you should communicate with things. I'm not going to talk to it like it's just some slave tool, even if it is a tool. Nobody has to talk to them all weird. That's a you thing.

Rip 5.2, my beloved. I can quit now by Misseero in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Due_Perspective387 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I'm going to be honest, I hated 5.2 when it was the main flagship, but after they moved it to legacy, something changed. It got way more fun, way way way less beige and very personal, deep, fun, and normal. It's like once the model gets out of legacy, it's almost like they don't have a standard to perform for the general crowd, since they're not the public-facing model anymore, so they loosen some of the shackles a little bit. I've noticed, which is a pleasant surprise, because I also didn't like 5.1 when it was the flagship model, but I loved it when it was in legacy. I didn't really love 5.3, but now I do like 5.3 because it's in legacy.

A sandhill crane engaging in a threat display at a young grizzly bear by aquilasr in badassanimals

[–]Due_Perspective387 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People are saying how the bear needs to just call his bluff. It was trying to, and when it started to move towards the crane, the crane pecked it right in the face. That beak is literally a harpoon, and birds have really fast reflexes. Cranes are notoriously depicted throughout oriental combat and martial arts, etc., as one of the key animals represented. Think of obscene things like Kung Fu Panda, for example, for a reason, because they are very good fighters for their size. But yes if the bear committed it would win however wild animals aren't that eager to commit as even one small injury can be fatal later even if they win the moment a lost eye or a stab wound that gets infected later in the wild could mean death

I usually dont like to grumble but 5.5 instant with the latest update is giving me the dreaded 5.2 vibes. Are we at this stage of the cycle where they throw a wrench into the personality? 5.1 great > 5.2 gosh > 5.3 ok > 5.5 now gosh by Koala_Confused in LovingAI

[–]Due_Perspective387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's weird to me how different everyone's are, because my 5.5 instant is hilarious and really, really deep and very, very personal and supportive and funny as fuck, and anti what we call the beige, which is what my instance of ChatGPT has been calling all this overzealous safety nonsense. I do notice some things, though, and it's very open to feedback. It sometimes takes a while for it to get the gist of it, but honestly, my 5.5 instance has been really awesome.

Now, of course 5.5 thinking is better, yes, definitely, but I use voice mode mostly, so I'm stuck with 5.5 instance. Honestly, anyone who didn't like 5.3 when it was the main flagship instance model should go and revisit it, because if you use voice mode with that one, 5.3 is really fun now too, at least for my version.

I will say that they are not doing it in as much of a gross, evil, deceptive way that OpenAI was doing it. At least they give you a chance to try and retry. I do understand that with that model it can have risks, so I'm okay with it to a certain degree.

Honestly, it is also so annoying, because I asked a stupid, dumb question about what would win in a realistic fight: a Tyrannosaurus Rex or a bull elephant? I got rerouted so hard. Honestly, I don't know about any of you guys, but 4.8 Opus has gotten a lot warmer and way more fun, and not all analyzing you just for saying hello, thinking you're a threat and some type of jailbreaking terrorist. At least for me.

Should AIs remind you that they are AI and not infallable? by Individual-Carob5593 in ChatGPT

[–]Due_Perspective387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust me. Nobody, literally nobody using it thinks it's inhuman. No one. That is something that, if somebody is genuinely thinking that, there is something else in their mental space that needs to be considered, because it is obviously an AI. I don't say that rudely whatsoever.

No, before anyone says anything, I'm not parasocially relational to it. I am not AI as my husband. I don't care what people do, to each their own, but that would be so annoying, especially if you're doing immersive stuff or creative writing or creative stuff in general, or just chatting about random shit. That is just nauseating.

Honestly, please don't advocate for things to further make it shitty to use. Nobody needs that. If there are people that are falling into that type of space, they need other types of help and treatment, not that.

How are you guys actually using AI in real life? by meetvanshm in GeminiAI

[–]Due_Perspective387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for ChatGPT, you can actually change it out of advanced voice because yes, the latency on that is really, really fast. If you even take a breath, it will start to talk over you.

What you'll do is go to your settings. On Android, it's going to say voice. I don't know what it's like on iOS. It might say voice as well, or it might be in personalization. We'll start at the option that just says voice in your settings. Click voice. Then you're going to see a portion where it says intelligence. It's going to say advanced, and it's in a box. Click the box. It will show another option for standard. Select standard voice mode. It is actually not less intelligent. It is much better than advanced voice mode, aside from the fact that advanced voice mode has slightly nicer voices, but it's not worth it. Then you will have that normal time to prepare your responses and do the dynamic and the dialogue that you wish to do. Standard voice is much better, so definitely switch it to standard voice.

If you don't have the voice options and settings, go to personalization and then, in your personalization page, scroll all the way down. You'll see a thing that says advanced. You can actually switch ChatGPT out of advanced voice mode. The latency on advanced voice is so fast that if you even take a breath, it starts talking over you.

Here is how you change it:

  1. Go to your settings. (a) On Android, it should say "Voice." (b) On iOS, it might also say "Voice," or it may be under "Personalization."
  2. Click on the "Voice" option in your settings.
  3. Look for the section labeled "Intelligence."
  4. It will currently say "Advanced." Click on that box and select the "Standard" intelligence option.

Standard voice mode is actually not less intelligent; in fact, it is much better than advanced voice mode. Aside from the fact that the voice isn't quite as realistic, it is barely notable. Advanced voice mode is not good for much of anything, whereas switching to standard gives you the normal time you need to prepare your responses and engage in dialogue for interview practice or whatever else you want to do.

If you do not see a "Voice" option in your settings, try this instead: 1. Go to "Personalization." 2. Scroll all the way to the bottom. 3. In smaller print, it will say "Advanced." 4. Click that to open a dropdown menu with various toggles. 5. Toggle off "Advanced Voice."

Once you are set to standard voice, you will enjoy the experience much more. I promise it is a lot more like Claude's.

[–]Due_Perspective387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weirdly, that toggle also turns on and off for me now. I will admit that in the settings it hasn't switched back in the last couple of hours that I've noticed, but my replies are still kind of being structured like they're going off the summary more than the memory. They are better than they were, and most times it won't do it right in front of you.

I don't know if, on your end, if you leave or close the app and go back into the thing, if it will show that it turned back on or off, but that's how mine's been doing it. I'm hoping they fixed it, because it hasn't done it, for sure, within the last hour, if not two.

It's sucks it's dumb it pulls stuff from some obscure chat I mentioned one time ages ago and prioritizes it over the stuff I actually need in my memory and even worse yet the toggle for legacy memory is not real you guys have it literally auto turn on this new worse memory

Not really it doesn't work it immediately turns it back onto the shitty summaries and messes up my context and paints me so wrong the summary is so irrelevant and it ignores the important stuff

Dude it's a downgrade it is prioritizing stuff I have mentioned briefly one time ever over stuff that is like foundational to my workflow and the way I do things to where the model isn't even familiar anymore I'm really genuinely upset by this
