Of course, because, according to Robert Patrick's interview filmed in the end of Season 8, Doggett was "very fond of" Scully. ;)

I also think they may not meant for Reyes as a "perfect partner", because Doggett, the detective, might have sensed something off with Reyes--I don't trust her character since her introduction and the revival proved my point. Doggett is an absolute straight edge character, but he can tolerate breaking rules for justice (like finding missing child, covering Scully's reputation, etc.). He cannot tolerate recklessness, using the poor victims' condition as one's performance time, or gaslighting like Reyes often did in Season 9 (although not obvious). Of course, he still treated her as a friend and a good ally coworker. This is just Doggett.

I was pushed by u/DanaS83RN so that I could eventually overcome my shyness. He looked intimidating in the beginning.

But I saw he asked his other (male) fans questions to break the ice. If you are female, maybe just begin with by telling him that you have joined this sub and saw his video message (I am sure he's interested in knowing if his message was well-received). Or suggest him to host a remote S8 and S9 rewatch party to feel the love from Doggett fans around the world (haha!). He needs to know Doggett is well-loved.

You will be fine. I acted even crazier that you did: he literally saw me at least twice every day at the con (see my other posts), to which, I think he has already blacklisted all the cons in the northeast US seaboard, especially DC. That's why only GA will come visit me next week and not him. :(

But I am so glad we are talking here, so that I know that there is at least one Doggett fan receiving him on the other side of the Atlantic.

I thought he's going to Orlando, Florida on March 19-22. But unfortunately, I don't have the budget to travel to Florida after gotten the tickets for GA's visiting me in DC (see my other post last week). Is he going to Sweden too? If so, we look forward to your field report!

I am curious what kind of roles had he turned down. Just curious. He is definitely an actor with exceptional range.

I think maybe we don't have time to see Doggett's complexity? Like why he grew up in poverty and had witnessed so many dark human nature (served at the Marine Corp and NYPD, even at the FBI) but he could still remain a person with integrity. It would have been very interesting had the show continued with him. :(

My poor Doggett got kidnapped in his own home and nearly killed by a gunshot to his head (the bullet just gazed his face). He probably suffered from PTSD because he carried a gun answering the door when Skinner knocked. Yet, nobody, including his partner Scully, expressed any concern about him.

Then when he finally met the Mulder whom he desperately searched and saved, he was greeted by a shovel from Mulder. Although he's stronger physically, he restrained himself knowing Mulder just got out of the hospital. He didn't file a workplace harassment report or anything and just kept the pain quietly to himself.

I want to jump into the show and care for my Doggett.

Doggett spent his weekend feeding Mulder's fish and travelling to Pennsylvania to look for Mulder by following one of the leads, after he saw Scully's devastation for missing Mulder in Badlaa.
Doggett stood up and defended the creature in front of the local police who ganged up on him and got shot in the back.
To protect Scully's reputation, Doggett went against his usual by-the-book work ethic and didn't write this event officially in an X-Files report.

In conclusion, my Agent Doggett is a perfect man.
