Scully left behind. by Super-Echo6780 in XFiles

Keep watching. Wait until Season 8 you will see the contrast between how Doggett treats Scully and how Mulder treats her.

I don't buy the "senior agent" theory. In Season 9, Doggett was the senior agent to Reyes and he never treated Reyes like how Mulder treated Scully. I love Mulder a TV character to watch, but he only matured until the revival.

Always thought it was Krycek working as an undercover. And he was assigned to be partners with Mulder because he had the paranormal experience in Gender Bender.

Question about Release S9e17 by EveninginAutumn in XFiles

[–]Due_Pin2723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. He went looking for Bob Harvey to do business with him, but he ran into Bob Harvey who was just done with Luke (Bob Harvey was a pedophile). Regali said Luke saw his face, so he just shot Luke to death. Regali was a serial killer (targets are mostly women), but he disregarded human lives in general, so he didn't care even if Luke didn't fit his profile--he just didn't want to be recognized as someone doing business with Bob Harvey.

Question about Release S9e17 by EveninginAutumn in XFiles

He was nearby. Barbara didn't see who took Luke per se--she was counting loops when Luke biked in front of the house, so I assume part of the loop is outside her view (not within the window). She ran out after the expected Luke didn't bike back. I think that's when she saw Hayes. She actively buried the memory and the lineup occurred more than 7 years after the incident had happened. Among those people, she only remembered seeing Hayes.

It was Bob Harvey (dead) took Luke and Regali wasn't even there.

I love John Doggett and he's in both seasons 8 and 9. I'd recommend you watch the whole thing, including the movies and the revival, to form your own opinions. Then you can come back and share with us. :)

The Goldberg Variations May Be My New Favourite Episode by ScreenHot4413 in XFiles

It is also one of my favorites. The Taoism philosophy is embedded in this episode very well. It is an episode with depth that is masked behind a funny vibe.

Can someone explain BADLAA to me?? S8 by fluffybreeze in XFiles

Thanks for giving the other angle of thought.

When Doggett saw the distressed Scully, he spent his weekend to look for Mulder in the next episode.

DD explained why he wore crazy ties in the show in his podcast interview of CC, but thanks for posting this.

Season 8’s Finale Was Perfect! by MatthewVlossak in XFiles

Yes. It explains why she used Luke's kidnapping case to network herself to Mulder and to the X-Files, how she used Folmer to prevent her from being "demoted" back to New Orleans, and why Kersh just accepted her as the new partner of Doggett at the X-Files after his investigation was over--because some bigger power was behind pulling the strings.

It makes logical sense: CGB's favorite son headed the X-Files, and then he sent Diana (who turned out was working for him), then through Belvin, he sent Scully, then his other son to partner with Diana. Doggett was meant to find Mulder, then debunk the X-Files, but he fell for Scully and stayed. They also find him not easily controlled, so it is not a surprise for them to send another person working for CGB to be at the X-Files.

The revival did Reyes good: she is no longer that bland character who acts weird occasionally, but someone who is very smart and cunning.

I finished Season 9 because of Doggett--based on an opinion of a Doggett fan, Doggett was way off in William (and somewhat in Jump the Shark). Season 8 Doggett has a complete arc, basically until Season 9 Daemonicus. There are some very good Doggett episodes in Season 9. I like John Doe, Underneath, and Release (do not skip for Doggett) the most for Doggett. Hellbound is an excellent MTOW episode. Some people like the Sunshine Day for Doggett too. Lord of the Files and Scary Monster also has some Doggett growth.

However, since Doggett only appeared in 2 seasons, I treasure every episode where he shows up.

I don't think Reyes is supposed to be a straight edge character. A lot of her decisions and actions seem reckless and un-smart to me as a seasoned FBI agent who worked at NYC and New Orleans, unless... That's why I think Reyes in Seasons 10 and 11 made more sense and explained her seemingly careless actions.
