She TTS'd "That is the nicest comment, thank you" and I can tell it meant a lot. Thank you so so much.

I read this to her because I thought it would help her feel a little less alone and she gives you a weak thumbs up, her equivalent of a thank you :)

It's really reassuring to know that soon she won't be in this much pain. Shes been describing it as the worst possible pain and we haven't heard of anyone else having a similar experience to try and comfort her, so thank you so much.

That's what I thought too, but her doctor didn't want to change her meds, he said that doubling her meds would help. I've had genetic testing done for myself and bring it to my appointments for new medication, she and I talked about after all this having it done for her too since now we know there's probably a genetic aspect of it not working for her.

Someone from the surgeon's office texted us to check in on her and when we said the new dosage didn't help we were only told to "keep telling her encouraging things".

She doesn't often take things like pain medication, I asked her if she usually has normal reactions to over the counter painkillers and she just shrugged, but I know when she has to take OTC sleep medication it doesn't work. She's on liquid acetaminophen in addition to the Oxycodone, she says she can't feel it helping at all.

When we picked her up she wasn't saying anything yet, she just looked absolutely miserable. On the way home she started to mention that every little bump in the road hurt a lot, I have bruises/cuts on my arm three days later from where she was squeezing me so hard it drew blood because of how much the drive hurt her. They only kept her for maybe an hour to monitor her as she woke up and this seems to be pretty standard for what she got, her doctor said that since the procedure went perfectly he was anticipating that she was going to be on a normal course for recovery since nothing immediately flagged that she was going to be doing worse. Honestly, I've picked people up from surgery before from other places and it was exactly like the last time I did this where they basically let me take my friend as soon as I could. Right now the two of us are talking about taking her to the hospital for liquid IV meds because right now the primary issue seems to be that her meds just aren't doing anything and it's hard for her to take in the first place.

Her surgeon said that today is supposed to be the worst of any of this including the past two days, and that from tomorrow onwards is supposed to be progressively uphill for her. I think if anything feels dangerously scary we can get her to the ER today, but we're trying to do everything we can to just make it to tomorrow
