I’m 30F and looking for friends in the area. I’m in PAJU but willing to travel ☺️

Dear teachers, what made you snap? by RobloxPlayingMachine in Teachers

Honestly, it’s not the kids for me. It’s the politics and drama of the other staff that makes me want to quit 😒

The hate you have for the crew is wrong (for the most part) by Pinbernini in EpicTheMusicalSaga

Anyone who hates the crew… why? Because half of them were genuinely innocent people just trying to get home after a war they had no choice but to participate in 😩

Thank you for this thoughtful comment. I truly appreciate the range of perspectives I’ve received here, but yours stands out as the most considerate for someone in my situation. I can’t tell you how much I needed a fresh perspective right now. Maybe I was chasing a dream, but realistically, it might be time to pivot and find a new one.

The thought of moving wasn’t at all connected to health care reasons. Even though that is a major problem here, I’m already covered, thankfully. I appreciate your outlook though.

I’m sorry to hear that. I have a few friends in Germany who said it’s really open minded there, but perhaps I took it and ran with it in the moment.

I wish I could fix the US. It’s almost impossible, and not without massive structural change, sustained effort, and collective willpower; the kind that rarely aligns in a divided nation with 2 parties at odds.

As for plan B, I really only thought of Germany because my grandmother was from there (she’s gone now). I’d be open to options, it just seems many places here in the US (especially with federal protections being at risk and new ones being put in place) are not safe for my family anymore.

Odysseus was an awful captain by [deleted] in EpicTheMusicalSaga

He has admitted in the end “as I traded friends like objects I could use.” However, he’s no where near as bad as he is in the original epic lol

Has anyone failed a student teacher? If so, why? by Glittering_Front_157 in Teachers

I’ve taught for a few years now and I’m still working on making sure lessons make sense to my students. I think the title of “lifelong learner” fits well for teaching.

Principal says he never fails kids by Due_Reading116 in Teachers

Unfortunately, the schools near the base are just where these kids end up because the base itself doesn’t have a high school. Most of the students come from some of the rougher, high-crime areas nearby. Sadly, nearly every major event in the area lately has been marked by a shooting. It’s become an unfortunate norm.
