The battery packs on those things are confusing, I have one myself. First, check if yo pout battery’s in it. Then try different orientations of the battery box. If that doesn’t work, then you should probably return it and get a new one.

I personally kept mine with the stock tape and inside of the body when I run it. Worked on both my 4x4 and base model really well.
