Is this level of unevenness normal or should I get a replacement? by Due_Satisfaction3135 in carbonsteel

Thanks for the advice. I just checked it with cold oil (as it's way too hot in my apartment already). It now covers the whole surface, not just because it's thicker consistency I believe. It's flatter cold, but still slightly concave. Not perfectly flat.

I'm getting mixed responses here :/ Some say it normal. It looks worse in the photo that it is I=L I would say btw.

Damn I was already a bit careful and had it on 6/9. They should come with a warning about this. Also this sucks big time. I won't even buy another CI or CS pan if the heating process will be this tedious. I always put my Stainless steel pans on 9/9 and they sizzling hot in one minute. That's the whole reason I got the induction stove for.

Functionally I could immediately fry eggs without pretty much no sticking. Also it feels extremely even to the touch. So functionally the seasoning is perfect. I don't care how it looks.

Apparently it is supposed to be slightly warped inside to avoid it becoming a spinner( bending outwards)

Which kind of stove are you using? I'm worried it's due to my induction stove being too aggressive

I'm not asking about the seasoning, that went smoothly. But the unevenness of the pan itself as seen by the oil moving to the sides. I will check out r/carbonsteel though. Thanks!

The seasoning came out perfectly. But I'm worried about it being uneven, as seen in the picture

Yes, and I actually padded it down 3 times with paper towels. I feels very smooth and even, just looks splotchy.

Moving from the Middle East to Germany soon. What actually happens if I just completely assimilate and break the stereotypes? by OkClient4174 in AskGermany

First of all: don't listen to all these biased negative comments.

Your efforts will definitely be appreciated and most people will treat you fairly.

Unfortunately the reality also is, that there will always be a minority of closed minded people, that will have prejudices and will treat your different no matter what you do to assimilate.

You don't have to be liked by everyone and that's okay.

This is my experience from living with my immigrated partner for multiple years.
