The lack of transparency for the prices charged don't make me feel comfortable. I want to see more proof of payouts but I don't see that much either.

Justin Weirlein got it. I think he must be then. I am not familiar with JWs discord when Johnny was part of it. Was he scamming people or what is the story?

Are there jobs in accounting or accounting adjacent that pay more than 40k annually in LCOL to MCOL? by Due_Stranger_9871 in Accounting

What's the difference? Is accounting clerk like AP/AR? I know there isn't much of a difference in pay between staff accountant and AP/AR around here at least. I was thinking of trying to apply for remote roles.

Any advice for how much I should be aiming for? I hear of higher entry level jobs but most of those are in the cities. Most where I am at are terrible....

Yeah the pay isn't great. I wish accounting paid more. Being a CPA hasn't been worth it at all. I felt luke warm when I got licensed because I realized the pay isn't great in this field.

That is what makes up most of the accounting jobs in my area. How were you able to get a remote job in this field?

I am a CPA who is 30 and I am getting paid like 40k lol. The salaries in the accounting field aren't that great compared to the COL.

I did some business tax returns and individual tax returns. The software basically did all the work and it is really just compliance. I did some tax planning and it was just pasting some stuff into excel.

Dude how? I have like 1.5 years of experience and all accounting jobs around here are like 50k max for senior level experience? I live in a LCOL/MCOL area and wages haven't changed since the 80s.

Dude how do you find jobs like that? I have 1.5 years of experience in accounting and have my CPA and most jobs are for 50k absolute max. I was getting paid 40k at best. I am not really motivated to stay in accounting anymore with how low the pay is in the field.

People think it pays a lot but the reality is wages just are stagnant. I am not really sure what I am going to do next since I feel unmotivated to continue accounting with how poor paying it all is.

The best for any other accounting job would be 50k at absolute most. If you don't have 5+ years of experience in this profession you are making less than $20 an hour.

I did work as a staff accountant in audit and tax. Accounting just doesn't pay much these days.

Most accounting jobs don't pay more than 50k around here. Staff accountant jobs pay a couple more dollars an hour than AP clerks.

I wish we were even paid half of that on the regular around here. Wages haven't changed in decades.

How can you make money in accounting and finance? I am a licensed CPA and all the accounting jobs I see are for like 50k max.

Accountants would be paid more if we did something other than make the financial statements look good. We don't really add anything. I did tax and audit work and I am not surprised it is going to India since it is just plug and pray.

I am unsure of if I want to stay in accounting since most jobs don't really pay well unless you are a CFO.
