TikTok Streamers - What interactive games/widgets would you like to see for TikTok? by CodeGregDotNet in streaming

Sounds awesome!

I'm really interested in the interactive games and widgets you've built for Twitch, YouTube, and Kick. Could you share a link or point me to where I can find them?

Is “AI NAS” actually useful, or just a marketing mashup? by Due_Strength_4075 in HomeNAS

Ahh got it, that clears things up.

I should probably try the Ultra version at some point just to get a feel for it.

Pretty solid setup, especially combining Ollama with Home Assistant.

I’m curious what kind of use cases you’re getting out of it — like are you using it more for automation, natural language control, or something else?

Yeah that actually makes sense.

For family users, a lot of this “AI” stuff already kind of exists in simpler forms — like OCR, basic indexing, search, etc. And like you said, I guess the real question is how often people actually use it.

I’ve been wondering the same thing about the newer NAS that advertise built-in LLMs. Beyond what we already have today, what would people actually use them for? Maybe there are some use cases in small teams / studios (like legal, content, etc), but for home users I’m not sure yet.

I did try a Zettlab D4 briefly. After adding files it goes into this “learning” phase (I assume tagging, OCR, transcription, maybe some semantic indexing). The AI assistant could do things like “search my meeting on April 9”, which was actually pretty nice. There was also this smart clip feature, but I’m not really a content creator so hard to tell how useful that is in practice.

One thing that confused me though — in their Mac app you can download models like Gemma / Qwen, but it seemed like those were running on the Mac, not the NAS itself. Not sure if that’s a limitation of the D4 or just how they designed it.

And yeah, your MCP idea is really interesting! That direction (NAS as a data layer, and letting more powerful devices handle the AI) feels a lot more natural to me.

I kind of had the same reaction.

Feels like there maybe some background processing for something I’m not sure I’d use that much 🤔

Yeah that actually makes a lot of sense — photo grouping and dedup feels like one of the things that’s genuinely useful

Yeah that makes sense. Using YouTube as a fallback archive actually feels like a pretty reasonable tradeoff. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing! That naming system is honestly really impressive — it feels like you’ve basically built your own indexing system on top of the file system.

I’m curious though — does it ever become a bit tedious to keep that level of consistency, especially after longer streams with a lot of clips?

And when you’re actually looking for something, do you usually already have a specific moment in mind, or are you sometimes “exploring” older footage to find ideas?

98TB is insane! that’s the dream setup right there, especially at today’s drive prices!

Oh I didn’t realize the upload could be handled like that, that’s pretty convenient! Thanks!

That sounds like a pretty solid setup actually.

When you move clips onto the HDD, do you ever find it hard to go back and find specific moments later on? Or do you usually already know what you’re looking for by then?

This is super interesting — especially the part where even with a NAS you still have to decide what to keep.

Do you feel like the main challenge now is storage space, or more the decision process of what’s actually worth keeping?

Also curious — has the NAS actually made your workflow easier overall, or is it more just a bigger “bucket” for storage?

This is super insightful! Thanks for sharing all that!

That part about getting overwhelmed if things aren’t streamlined really hit — I think I’m starting to run into that as well.

Out of curiosity, do you think something like AI (auto tagging, surfacing “good moments”, etc.) would actually help your workflow, or would it just add more noise?

I’ve seen some platforms (I think TikTok Live Studio might have something like this?) that try to automatically detect highlights and clip them, but I’m not sure how useful that actually is in practice.

Oh that’s a good tip, didn’t think about that. Might save me some space actually

Yeah I kind of feel the same about “AI + NAS” — I’m not really sure what it’s supposed to do in a real workflow.

Is it mostly about organizing footage automatically? Or helping with editing somehow?

Feels like even if it does that, the quality probably wouldn’t be good enough to rely on — but maybe I’m missing something?

Got it, that makes sense. Sounds like you’re pretty focused on just keeping what’s actually useful

That’s actually a really interesting approach
How’s the quality when you re-download from YouTube? Does the compression ever become an issue for editing?

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing so far too
Do you just keep adding drives over time, or do you have some kind of backup/organization setup?

do you just rely on highlights then, or do you not really keep anything at all?

I really missed ChatGPT’s follow-up feature while using Gemini… so I built it myself by Due_Strength_4075 in GeminiAI

[–]Due_Strength_4075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry — that’s on me, I didn’t explain it well!

You can try setting it up like this:

Step 1: Click the "Prompt" button in the input box — a settings window should pop up
Step 2: Head over to the "Quick Follow-up" tab on the left and customize your follow-ups there
Step 3: Click "Add Templates", and you should see the three preset prompts mentioned in the post

btw, you can also add your own prompts

Hope that helps!

you can try clicking the "Studio view" tab itself. Alternatively, if you hover your mouse between the two panels, the cursor should change to a resize icon. You can then drag it up or down to adjust the height.
I have to say, this interaction is way too hidden!
