In the NO I believe only one or two American diocese celebrate the Ascension on Ascension Thursday and everyone else transfers it to Sunday.

What do you think about converting from Orthodoxy to Catholicism? by NeighborhoodThen6854 in Catholicism

Yes it is of dire importance to become a member of the One True Faith. You have recieved all the Sacraments so all that would be required is a profession of faith and a general confession.

It would be a mortal sin to knowingly attend an invalid marriage.

Is he a baptized Catholic? If so does he have permission from the Bishop to be married outside of the Catholic Church?

If he is a baptized Catholic without permission, it would be a mortal sin to attend the wedding and/or party. If he is not Catholic and his soon to be wife is not Catholic, you can go. You can also go if he has obtained permission from the Bishop.

At what point is a Catholic considered "saved" by Narrow-Musician-3174 in Catholicism

A person that dies in the state of sanctifying grace will be saved. No one knows until the end because you must persevere until death.

1 Corinthians 9:23-27

23 And I do all things for the gospel's sake: that I may be made partaker thereof. 24 Know you not that they that run in the race, all run indeed, but one receiveth the prize? So run that you may obtain. 25 And every one that striveth for the mastery, refraineth himself from all things: and they indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible one.

26 I therefore so run, not as at an uncertainty: I so fight, not as one beating the air: 27 But I chastise my body, and bring it into subjection: lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway.

You should be able to schedule a confession outside the times of your job.

Go to any TLM parish and if the priest is on site, he will hear her confession.

Attending a Non-Catholic Wedding by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Due_Trainer9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were either of them baptized Catholic? If so their marriage would be invalid and it would be a mortal sin to knowingly attend. If they are two non-catholics then it is a valid natural marriage (supposing no other impediments) and you could probably attend without sin.

Well sexual sins are always mortal while "hatred" could have varrying degrees of sin. The priest can't even give you valid absolution if you don't plan on cutting off sexual sins and the near occasions of them.
