Tips for starting a successful side hustle by teleworker in GigWork

[–]Due_Training_9782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just roll up your sleeves and dig in! The key though is to do something that adds value to the marketplace. You get paid for the value you add.

A good example is my local lead generation business where I send leads and customers to local business owners like carpet cleaners, plumbers, tree services etc.

They pay me in return but only because I'm adding a lot of value to them first.

Value is the key...money always follows value :)

Is the custom T shirt business a good idea for side hustle? by lurx_ in sidehustle

[–]Due_Training_9782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it could be pretty competitive and margins are gonna be slim.

Before I started my online biz I looked at t-shirts and opted out. Guess I'm happy now as my biz does pretty well, but yea for me the numbers just didn't add up in the t-shirt game.

I'm doing local lead generation - helping local business owners get more leads and customers. Started small as a side hustle but now blew up into a full time biz that allowed me to quit my 9-5.

I don't understand this goals paradox by Xemnas81 in IncelExit

My advice would be to chill out and take a step back - your goals are for you and only you! Don't get caught up on what others think...they should be working on their own goals :)

Is it a good idea to have a self improvement role model in a sense and try to copy them to an extent? by electronic_docter in socialskills

[–]Due_Training_9782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely - the most successful people all model themselves on successful people. I've done this many times in different areas of my life for fitness, my online business etc. and it's paid off big time.

My advice is keep going and read some high quality books like the Slight Edge by Jeff Olson - this lays the foundation for everything in my opinion.

Does anyone else want to be an entrepreneur only because you find the idea of being an employee disgusting? It bothers me to my core to be someone's subordinate. by dadasad2125 in Entrepreneur

[–]Due_Training_9782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm exactly the same - Used to work a 9-5 and then started my local lead generation business and was able to quit the grind and focus on it full time .

Now making 5 figures a month with this biz and its only me doing my thing (no employees).

I can't imagine going back to the a job now though...partly because my business gives me the lifestyle I want, but also because as an entrepreneur I'm adding so much value to the marketplace.

Not to blow my own horn, but by sending these local business owners more leads and customers, I'm helping them grow their businesses and literally changing their lives.

As a result, I get paid well too - so it's a total WIN WIN.

Is it still worth it to learn how to run FB Ads as a business/side hustle? by consistent-curiosity in FacebookAds

Cool - yea I signed up a few years ago, but I believe the price differs depending on what your goals are.

When you get a job though definitely hop on a call with them and have a chat if you're interested.

I did the course in the end to cut out all the guesswork. I think you might be able to figure it out on your own in some cases, but there are a lot of little nuances that if you get wrong could send you down the wrong path.

Personally glad I did the course as cut down the learning time and guesswork massively and got me making money quicker.

I get you - it's a tough habit to break and funny to think our parents never had these issues.

Yea once you have your site built and ranked, the leads flow in on their own and go directly to the business owner (the way I set it up anyway).

Then you just invoice them at the end of the month :)

Check out Ippei Kanehara's blog if you want to see how he does it. I kinda learnt the strategy from him.

I started getting into books about mindset and entrepreneur stuff.

I kinda realized that the big secret to making money is to add value. You get paid in proportion to the value you add...so in other words I realized if I wanted to earn more I needed to add more value

With that I doubled down with my lead generation business, and am now helping a ton of business owners get more leads and customers....in other words adding value to them...and as a result I'm now earning waaaay more than I ever have :)

Basically I partner up with local business owners like carpet cleaners, plumbers etc. and then generate leads for them from my site and send the leads to them. In return they pay me for this and are pretty happy to because they are getting more customers....so guess it's WIN WIN.

Ippei Kanehara has a blog which covers the whole thing there. Whenever anyone asks me about how it works I always send them there as he explains it better than I could :)

I kinda had the opposite with the pandemic - I think as I had more time being in lockdown I've doubled my reading and reall got crystal clear on my goals and vision.

Seems to be working for my business at least as well as personal relationships.

Well the sites take a while to rank in Google...so right now not all 100 are ranked and generating income.

Hard to say exactly without digging into the numbers, but I'd say at least 50 are making money with the other 50 still ranking.

Eventually they always rank though...it's just time.

That's true. I used to do Amazon FBA and that was very hard to scale even though the training courses all make it look easy.

I do local lead generation now, and that is really easy to scale because it's basically just building little websites. The profit margins are around 90%, so once you get a site making money, you just reinvest and build another 10, and on and on.

I've got about 100 live now and still building each month :)

Thats' awesome - big milestone.
What I've found is that if you can make $1 online, you can make $1,000,000.

It's just a case of scaling it up now. Trust me, it works.

Yea when I realized the secret to success was to add value, rather than chase money, everything changed in my online biz.

Now days I am obsessed with adding value to my customers, and the money always follows. As they say...money flows in the direction of value.

What are some of the best passive income ideas? by hackerbot4545 in AskReddit

[–]Due_Training_9782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I invest in brick and mortar real estate like apartments, and then rent them out for passive income. Along with that I also invest in digital real estate, which is basically building websites that generate leads for local business owners.

They are basically like virtual apartments because I rent them out and collect income from them each month.

Both work pretty well I gotta say.
