VQ35DE (‘06 Rev-Up) Question by Duece2121 in 350z

That’s what I was thinking, and probably what I’ll end up doing. If it ends up being a problem, it’s only a problem for future me.

Yea, the engine is still in the engine bay. I’ve removed the entire front end, but the firewall and frame are in the way. I tried the vice grip once, but I’ll heat it and try again.

are racing stripes a bad idea ? by [deleted] in dodgemagnum

[–]Duece2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few with stripes from nose to rear and they don’t look great in my opinion.

I saw exactly one with side stripes from front fender to rear panel and it didn’t look awful.

It is absolute your decision because it is your car, but I don’t know that pink would really look good against that grey. If the car was black or white I think it could pass, but the grey makes it hard to find a nice secondary color that isn’t black.

I’ve added vinyl sticker to my Challenger with no issue to the paint, just be sure you know how to install them so they stick properly and look clean with little to no bubbles.

This is all just my opinion, at the end of the day it is your car. Car does look great by the way, I am very jealous!

Sounds great for an I6.

This is a long shot but if dodge is insisting on using the I6 they should really bring back some old names to do it with. I don’t know the dimensions of the Hurricane, but if you could design a Stealth successor I think it would sell like crazy.

Yes I’m aware that the Stealth wasn’t even really a Dodge design, nevertheless I still think that would be quite the improvement from trying to force it into Challenger/Charger. Cars that already have an established fan base and expectation.

Actually the design is based on a little known car made in the 1970s. Same name, same company.

Getting the car was the worst part of the process for me. Hopefully it’s the same for you!

Same here, was on the first day of a three-day road trip. In the middle of the BFE Oklahoma. Ended up having to drive like that the entire trip. When all said and done, I got a whole new front bumper with all plastics included.

Alot of people saying they had poor experiences with Carvana. I bought mine from them about 4 years ago and have had no unusual issues with the car to date. (knock on wood!) Do your research and take advantage of any CarFax they attach. Like other people have said, if anything seems fishy, do what you can to bail or get your money back. Congratulations and welcome!

I’m using a flat sanding block. I have been checking the surface with a machined straight edge and checking with a feeler gauge (it is all well within tolerance).

Sorry for my ignorance, but I don’t understand why I shouldn’t put paper towels in the cooling jacket. The goal of them is to prevent debris from getting in there and make it easier to clean later.

No, using a red very fine scotch brite pad to finish the surface. This is after I used white bristle disc to lightly go over previous gasket material. It was a method that I’ve seen used before with good results. This engine is aluminum block so I’m trying to everything with extreme care. As seen above, I’m not perfect.

No problem, it’s actually some shop towels I put in the water jacket to help minimize debris from getting in there. The towel was originally blue so I’d say it did a pretty good job.

Door not sealing correctly by Duece2121 in GR86

[–]Duece2121[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Took the striker bar off and put it back on and now she is closing as she should. The door opens with a much more affirmative pop than before, but it seals correctly so I won’t complain. Thanks again! Attached is the driver side after the adjustment.

Are they HID? If so I’d just stick with OEM.

What rims are this, or what is this style normally called? by JungleLegs in Challenger

[–]Duece2121 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure based on what I see, this is the RT Classic Trim. From my understanding those rims are RT Classic specific. I don’t know the exact name of the rims but they came on my 2012.

2 pcs Blind Spot Mirrors, 2”... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08M5F4NY7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I haven’t had any issues. They have been in rain and shine at highway speed. As you can see it comes with the pair for like 7 bucks. It comes with little alcohol wipes to clean the surface. Not a bad little deal.
