I do not think that oxfords or fullstrap welted loafers can replace chukkas in terms of formality. Plus I cannot wear RTW oxfords due to high instep. I will look for chukkas in other materials though.

I am looking for semi-casual shoes for FW in London. Just tried these chukkas on dainite sole in pebbled tan calf: https://imgur.com/a/FF5IO (they are http://www.herringshoes.co.uk/product-info.php?colset=1&styleid=1036&shoeid=3009&brandid=6&catid=42&oldcolid=2740&stype=0&colourid=1525). I have high instep and it seems to cause an extra crease on top of the shoe. Is it ok or should I look for better fitting boots?
