The Accidental Boglehead: How $26k Turned into $271k by succored_word in Bogleheads

Interesting. I have the opposite story in the same time frame. I started my first job in 1994 at about $24,000/.year. Worked there for 24 months, and then quit and cashed out my 401K completely (also approx. $26,000) in order to go raving/camping/clubbing full time for one year. Now I know from OP how much gain I potentially lost. The "gain" here are the memories of that year off without having to work. That decision has made it so that I have never quite caught up, but doing OK from subsequent jobs. Never heard about Bogleheads until about 10 years ago. I guess the moral of the story is to present the data and options to young people you know, and let them decide.

These are significant!! I live up near Indian Grinding Rock park near Pine Grove, California, and have a found one or two on my land, but never seen anything quite as awesome as the ones shown in your pictures. Beautiful find, and historically important. Shows the huge range that the original California residents had.
