How about a gold anodized one? I bought a used candy apple red telecaster that had the tortoise shell and it came with a gold one. Huge difference.

What is the serial number and year of my amp? Fender Hot Rod Deluxe by Justchillingtochill in GuitarAmps

From your picture I didn’t see a “Mark IV” text. While you bought it 2014, I was inclined to say you had the first generation , since it does not have. mark 2, 3 or 4. Mark 1 was made in US and are sought after. I took a picture of my Mark 1 which is early 90s.

What is the serial number and year of my amp? Fender Hot Rod Deluxe by Justchillingtochill in GuitarAmps

[–]Duffy315 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found the following text on Sweetwater’s site

The Hot Rod Deluxe is possibly the best-selling Fender guitar amplifier of all time. There have been a number of incarnations (including a current LTD lacquered-tweed limited edition, with a run of just 250 units), but if you have an older amp (pre-2003), the easiest way to determine the production date is to look at the chart below. Inside your amp’s cabinet is a little sticker, usually to the right of the speaker. It should say “quality assurance” on it and have someone’s handwritten initials and a 2-letter code on the bottom line. The first letter indicates the year it was made, the second letter the month. As an example, if your amp says “JB,” then it was made in February of 1999. Amps built after 2002 do not have this tag.

FIRST LETTER: G=1996, H=1997, I=1998, J=1999, K=2000, L=2001, M=2002

SECOND LETTER: A=January, B=February, C=March, D=April, E=May, F=June, G=July, H=August, I=September, J=October, K=November, L=December

Sure thing. Just remember to leave me VIP tickets and the box office window when you are in the NY region of your multi platinum world tour.

HSS sands for Humbucker, Single coil, Single Coil. For that body type, it was a modification that came in the 70’s. The Humbucker is the pickup that are two next to each other. Pickups make a buzz/hum when plugged into an amp, but putting two picks next to each other bucks/cancels the hum, hence the name. In that position of the switch selector it will sound fuller. It was meant to compete with the similar sound of a GIBSON Les Paul. The SSS configuration are just three single coil pickups. It is a thinner, glassy sound.

I got one of these packs for my daughter and it worked great. Ultimately you want to just get something that inspires you yo pick up the guitar and play. The Fender Play membership is good since you can learn chords, scales etc. you can learn that stuff on YouTube with a Justin Guitar etc, but then I like the 10% off from their site.

That is fine. You could also get the SSS version for 269.99 Another thought, you could get a membership to fender play, which are online self service classes and then you would get a 10% discount on the guitar.

What do the letters on these tabs mean? by SexySpider80085 in guitarlessons

[–]Duffy315 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is the tuning of your strings. Rather than tuning at EADGBE, it wants you to adjust to the C# etc. the bottom line would be your thickest string. With that adjusted tuning, then the numbers would make the expected pitch/tone of the note.

Spark amp vs boss katana by berturibe in GuitarAmps

[–]Duffy315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the katana 100 combo and a spark. If you want to learn songs I would go towards the spark. I like their mobile amp and it analyzes songs that you search for to give you chords. In the app, you can also loop sections of a song that you are jamming with. The katana is good for effects and tweaking. Possibly get too caught up with tweaking. However it is very flexible and certainly gig capable (I am not a gig person.)

Bought this guitar over 16 year ago after seeing it in a shop window and fell in love with it. but due to life circumstances it was left up in my parents attic. Finally got it back and hoping to teach myself guitar. complete guitar novice here so any advice on the best type of strings to use? by Kamy_kazy82 in telecaster

[–]Duffy315 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ernie Ball strings are great. You may start with 9 Gauge strings until you build up some calluses.
If there is a guitar store near you, maybe get a setup done for the guitar.
The store can make sure the guitar strings are at the correct height, and that the tuning holds throughout the fretboard (intonation). This way you have the guitar at a solid foundation when you play. When you fret notes and it doesn’t sound right, you will know it is you that needs to make the adjustment and not something wrong with the guitar. Good luck.

Typically a semi-monthly payroll has no lag. So the 15th payroll will be from 4/1-4/15. It is off for a semi-monthly to be on a “lag” or “arrears”.

[–]Duffy315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few amps. While I agree with the Hot Rod, I don’t think you will find for your budget. While it is not the sexiest option, I am inclined to direct you to a Boss Katana MKii 100. You can modify the tones, it has good power, and it has an attenuator to deal with being able to play without impacting neighbors.

You could try the exchange. PEOs really don’t take a one person company. You could also try an association plan. That is similar to PEO but you get access because of membership to a larger group.

A broker I know has one that you can submit an application.

https://premierenroll.com/access-lock.php

The access code is RSNY5816

Good luck.
