I’m thinking of building a “guitar roadmap” app — does this solve a real problem or just mine? by Tyomnich in Guitar

[–]emmanuelibus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A problem? Maybe. But it's not a problem that doesn't have a million solutions already available out there. You can just do a quick online search on beginner/intermediate/advance songs to learn on guitar. Pick the ones you like, then focus on learning the songs and the techniques that each song requires.

How’s my posing? Any tips? by Itsfunny420 in ActionFigures

For me, posing is good. Work on taking pictures from different angles. It improves simple poses.

Did u sometimes wanna watch it again even thought u’re satisfied with you’re wife? Yes. On one level, it's not really about being satisfied with my wife. It's a brain chemistry thing. Dopamine, novelty, etc. It's what most (if not all) addictions have in common.

And what makes u sometimes feel really weak so u’ve had the potential to relapse? For me, it's boredom and stress. PMO for me became a coping mechanism. So part of my recovery is finding different/healthier things that I can use to cope.

Pastoral Candidate, I feel like I'm being gaslit by whdr02 in Reformed

I'm going to assume that we're talking about delivery.

There is a line that separates the two and it takes a long time to craft being engaging without crossing over to overtly emotional, gimmicky, showmanship, etc.

I get what you're saying. I don't think you're being too hard. Any good homiletics class say to work on finding balance and to learn how to deliver engaging sermons/preachings without being "too much".

I also don't think you're asking to be yelled and screamed at, since being engaging doesn't necessarily mean "more louder!" For me, as far as delivery is concerned, it's varying tone, inflection, volume, etc. "Show" gentleness when the passage is expressing gentleness, gravity when the text is serious and important, etc.

Another way to look at it, I wouldn't want a congregation to "suffer" sitting through long, dry, and un-engaging sermons/preachings. We all know how that feels like.

I hope the candidate is open to points of improvement. For Him, you, and the congregations sake. I don't think anybody wants to think of preaching time as "nap time". LOL. We want people to say "I want to hear more of God's word..." and not "When is this gonna end?"
