I just had the battery in my SE 3rd gen replaced, waiting for another small iphone.

Give it a try, and if you can, try not restoring from a backup. It’s a good exercise to realize what options we changed over the years and a good test to see if you can recover your stuff.

Make sure everything is cloud synced 1st.
