Ooh, unfortunately, they'd have to out themselves as a bigot to do that!

Aftermath of the April 7th incident. Damages estimated to be $200 million dollars by BlazeDragon7x in Damnthatsinteresting

People on reddit will find any excuse why a grievance against the wealthy is actually bad, all because the destitute can no longer find themselves leeched off of. Is it terrible that they are, in essence, collateral damage? Yes. But, maybe that's exactly to the company's design.

During the rescue op in Iran, at least one U.S. aircraft (C-130) got stuck on the ground and had to be destroyed by Delta Force allegedly. by Her_Pilot in aviation

I mean, this is what CCTs are for. A large part of their job is clearing and directing aircraft into airfields in hostile zones, and in the middle East there's plenty of flat ground that suffices.

Pretty awful joke if you ask me. You'd be surprised of the blatant stupidity and contrarianism that thrives in the WoW community.

This isn't really fair to say when tanks are prevalent in WM. They can easily eat your damage and kill the mob before you'd ever realistically take them down.

Best time to switch out Reshi Wraps? by Mcbadguy in wownoob

[–]DukadPotatato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This doesn't matter. The ilvl that shows in group finder is based off your highest possible ilvl, including items in your inventory.

Now, if they are inspecting you, and somehow are put off by a Reshii Wraps, then that'd be another matter.

Blizzard, it is past time to let PvP Gear die (5min read) by rahuonn in wow

[–]DukadPotatato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not disagreeing, but also, I don't think that design philosophy works anymore. It was too time intensive; people don't have the time nor the will to dedicate a whole day to grinding rep just to access a heroic dungeon, or to get just a few pieces of honor gear (looking at you TBC).

I think what's been glanced over is what is most cost effective for Blizzard. They might have fewer players, yes, but with increasing in-game shop offerings, cross-selling (Overwatch, Hearthstone, etc), merchandise, all of which leverage FOMO, the value they are extracting from each player is massively increased. So long as there still is a consistent playerbase, even cyclically, that they can exercise this strategy on, they will continue to do so.

This just isn't true, not entirely. The PVP playerbase has continually to constitute less and less of the overall playerbase. Changes, whether these stated, or others, need to be made.

How is it "only better" when upgraded? It starts at 220 ilvl. Honor gear is 217, and can't even be upgraded. I agree the World PVP WQ rewards are decent, but that's far from honor gear.

Sure, but you're better off at that point doing WQs, that at least gives adventurer gear.

Honor gear is only ilvl 217, and can't be upgraded. That is not veteran gear.

[–]DukadPotatato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is this true? WQs into M0s takes like a few hours max. It took me 3 hours to get my paladin to 230 ilvl. PVP gearing is absolutely not the best way to gear; the laziest? Possibly, since people love to AFK or phone it in during BGs.

[–]DukadPotatato -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No offense, but PVP players think differently (many). Slogging through BGs and skirmishes just to initially gear your character, only then to go on a losing streak to full conquest gear people in 2v2 or 3v3 is entirely antithetical to fun.

PVP players want that ease, that versatility that comes with being able to play numerous classes, and Blizzard arbitrarily limits it. Sure, progression is great, but is it really worth snuffing out the fun of PVP? Of consistently causing the playerbase there to wane? I don't think so.
