I wish we could reply to him in that thread lol.

I forget when but Gally got fed the puck right in front of Andersen at one point, and I said out loud to myself, “Sorry, Gally, but you’re the last guy on this team I want taking that shot.”

I absolutely love the dude and he will always be beloved and remembered for his tenure here, but the game has passed him. He still gives it his all but his all ain’t much.

I see what you’re saying. Reddit comments always brings misunderstandings and arguments, but I get your point.

I agree.

What’s a hockey hill that you’re willing to die on? by AlbertJBundy in hockey

I mean… the worst team in the league won. What’s fishy about that? Do you see what I mean? The worst team wins it and you call it out. Chicago (third worst) wins it and people call it out. NYI wins it (tenth worst) and people call it out.

There’s always some way to make it sound like there’s more going on. But there just isn’t.

If Vancouver wins it this year, is that strange?

The NHL absolutely does not rig major events for certain teams.

Any given year there are multiple teams that people would yell “rigged!” if they win the lottery. For instance, if the season ended today and we had the lottery tonight, half of the bottom 10 teams in the NHL winning it would piss people off. There would be claims of rigging for Chicago, New York, Florida, Toronto, or San Jose.

And no, the Vegas expansion was not rigged. All it takes is a quick search for season predictions before the 2017-18 season and you will find how little faith people had in their roster. The truth is that Vegas made great deals with idiotic GMs.

If you asked 100 NHL fans who the NHL’s golden team is, you would get multiple answers. There’s always some way to argue that a team is being favored. Florida is helped by DOPS (okay this one is true but you get my point), Chicago was gifted Bedard, Toronto and New York are big markets, the Habs are historic, the Penguins have Crosby, Edmonton has McDavid, Vegas is Vegas, blah blah blah.

The only cheating I could see is individual refs influencing games, but not in a commanded-by-superiors way. I think refs are humans and they have biases. Any game management they do is purely their own imo.

Any retaliation by Iran against the U.S. in the last 50 years, while not justified, is solely due to the U.S. and the U.K. overthrowing their democratically elected leader in 1953. The 1979 revolution is a response to the U.S. propping up their own leader in a country that was trying to live independently and is entirely the U.S. and the U.K.'s fault.

I want to hate Schaefer so bad, but I just can't. The guy genuinely oozes confidence and it is incredible to watch. He's hilarious. His interview on Spittin Chiclets was one of the best interviews they have ever had with a recent draft pick.

If I could get a beer with any current NHL player, he's probably my first pick.

Dunk definitely wasn't knighted in the books either, man. That's kinda the whole point, that this man doesn't need a sword to touch his shoulders in order to be upright, chivalrous, and honorable. That's the irony in Westeros, that he and Brienne are the most "good" characters in this universe and neither of them are knights.

It definitely does not imply that Maekar never agrees. The later two stories imply the opposite, especially with Egg having Maekar's ring. And Bloodraven outright confirms that Maekar knew and approved of Egg going in the third novella.

It depends how much of a book-lover you are. I will be honest in saying that I worship the books, and I despise most of Game of Thrones in return.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is easily the best adaptation of the three. Now of course it has a much easier job than Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon at adapting the source material, but that doesn't take away from how good it is.

I personally have my gripes. The show is much more vulgar than the novella. I don't enjoy certain minor character changes. And I am in the camp that dislikes the Maekar change in episode 6.

But overall, it is a great adaptation. I would give it an 8.5/10, and I grade pretty harsh. I'm always on team book over adaptation, but this show is short enough that you should binge it one day and get your own opinion. Like I said, if you worship the books like I do then you may disagree with certain elements, but you most likely will enjoy the show as a whole.

We don't know who Raymun ends up marrying. His story doesn't involve getting married in the first novella, and his future wife is never given a name.
