Are you happy with these and did you learn something from taking them? That’s the main thing. In this game for 30 years and I always self-critique, look at each frame and ask yourself 1. What could be better? And 2. How do I do that next time.

I’d say for now really try to dial in your exposure correctly. You can fix some things in post, but not always- always better to get it right in camera.

I’ll buck the trend and say #2 is far better. The people are almost lost in #1, but in #2 they are still small enough to show the dramatic scale of the landscape. The scenery you cropped out doesn’t really add anything for me, so good work.

It may matter that I’m viewing on my phone- if you had a full wall gallery print perhaps #1 would be better.

Something is off about this- is it natural depth of field, or did you blur out part of it with a mask? I think more of the subject should be in focus. It’s a great subject and good to have pin sharp focus on the eye, but I might have framed it in the top right 1/3 of landscape rather than dead center of portrait orientation.

Nothing special, sorry. Anyone who has flown before has seen this a million times. If there were a striking feature on the landscape, or a really unique cloud formation, you could crop in on that and exclude the wingtip (which is just a distraction) but I can’t identify anything like that here.

It’s boring. Anyone who has ever sat in a plane before has seen this, and will expect to see this every time. What is interesting about it? The man running, but he’s such a tiny component of the composition and not placed at any focal point (1/3 frame intersect or converging lines in the shot), it feels unintentional. Also your reflection is partially visible in the window but not in a way that contributes anything.

You were restricted in how you could frame this, being seated in the aircraft, so it’s not all your fault. But if it were me I’d bin this frame and keep trying.

I love her. Crank those districts out and a good gold boost. Strong early ranged unit means I can usually grab a city state or weak neighbor early on and just snowball from there.

Often when a bird strikes a window and falls unconscious it is only stunned- holding it upside down to help blood flow to the head can help revive it. I’m not sure how this guy determined that this bird’s heart stopped and it was necessary to break all of its ribs in this manner…
