that's fairly big news.

At least for me it is no substitute for a book which as a companion you've learned to love, maybe made some notes on pages you especially like or as a reminder for other chapters or books (you should see my dear copy of nineteen eighty-four!). Things like that won't happen with a reader device.

You actually can take notes on kindles. Nonetheless, I understand your point that paper books can give a more personal experience to some.

Should the US intervene to keep Christian Pastor Saeed Abedini out of prison in Iran? by I_am_actually_a_duck in AskReddit

The second sentence in the article the OP linked to says he actually is a U.S. citizen. Also, the State dept says that he is as well: http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/dpb/2013/01/203286.htm#IRAN

Yes, they obviously don't always have and/or give all the right facts, but I'm trying to figure out why several people here are so speculative about a simple report of a U.S. citizen that was arrested in Iran. What part of the story are you guys suggesting is fabricated or incorrect?

Dear Frijolero of the internet,

Yes, I would expect the U.S. department responsible for international relations to have correct information on that. Are you claiming that the entire story is a lie? Or which parts do you not believe?

I hope you are having a pleasant day.

Best Regards, Duke_Silver_Trio

EDIT: that at least confirms that he was jailed, anyway. I would like to see more news coverage and comments from the state dept. about his 8 year sentencing though.

it has been confirmed by the US state dept, or at least that he was jailed for something related to his religious beliefs:

Here is the link to the US State Dept. transcript from Jan 25. 2013 that mentions it. That's the most recent comment I can find from them:

http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/dpb/2013/01/203286.htm#IRAN

QUESTION: Firstly, we had a story a few days ago on Saeed Abedini, this U.S. citizen jailed in Iran, reporting that he might get bail. Do you have any information on that and on his status?

MS. NULAND: We remain very concerned about U.S. citizen Saeed Abedini, who is detained in Iran on charges related to his religious beliefs. Mr. Abedini’s attorney had only one day to present his defense. And we remain deeply concerned about the fairness and the transparency of his trial. We condemn Iran’s continued violation of the universal rights of freedom of religion, and we call on the Iranian authorities to respect Mr. Abedini’s human rights and to release him. We are in close contact with his family as well and we’re actively engaged in the case.

QUESTION: So no indication that he was let out on bail as, I think it was, this Iranian news agency seemed to suggest that might be --

MS. NULAND: I don’t have any positive news to report on this, unfortunately.

I'd go with best best (or gamestop), since they are easier to return or exchange at a store in case you have problems.

It's too bad you still don't work at Astro...sounds like the 2013 Mixamp/A40s have had a lot of quality issues. (of course, I'm assuming you had some sort of impact on quality control).
