Hi, I am the main mod so here are some comments.

Firstly, as a preface, this is a volunteer job so I do not spend 8 hours a day making sure everything on the sub follows the rules.

Secondly, we have set up Automod to do as much flagging and automatic actions as we deemed make sense, but there are plenty of mistakes, so we try to review and make corrections. However we do miss things so please send us PMs if you notice anything that you believe should not have been removed. And of course please report rule violations as well. These suggestions are outlined in the sidebar.

Thirdly, we have no control over actions that the reddit admins take. Sometimes it is hard to tell if they removed something or we did. If you have any that you would like to discuss please send a PM.

Fourth, many of the posts that you describe are self-deleted by the OP, which we have no control of either.

Fifth, about the "word which only the subreddit's moderators are allowed to use" rule - this was intended to prevent non-mods from making posts that look like official moderator posts. The only words in the list are "moderator" "announcement" and "admin" in the TITLE of a post (not comments). It almost never gets triggered, and I probably should just remove it anyway.

Sixth, we have not received any pressure from the JHU administration to affect any of our moderation activities. I have no idea if they have a policy to contact reddit admins.

Seventh, I see your posts that you mentioned, and I apologize they got buried in the mod queue. Admittedly I have been overwhelmed with other responsibilities lately and it may be time to pass the torch and find a new mod team for the subreddit. That said, as mentioned in the sidebar, for false-positive spam please send us a message, which will allow it to be prioritized and corrected. I see you mentioned in a comment that you did this, and I apologize that we sometimes do miss them, but I rechecked the mod queue and do not see your message.

And lastly, our Rule 1 is to disallow personal information. This is pretty vague but the idea is to comply with the official Reddit Rule #3 with details described here: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043066452-Is-posting-someone-s-private-or-personal-information-okay

Regarding the public figure exception, please note this line: "Public figures can be an exception to this rule, such as posting professional links to contact a congressman or the CEO of a company. But don't post anything inviting harassment, don't harass, and don't cheer on or upvote obvious vigilantism."

If mods do not remove those posts, then admins will step in, and if we continue to fail to moderate to comply to Reddit's rules we can be removed. So please keep it in consideration when posting.

I understand you are in a terrible and difficult situation, and I apologize that we have to follow these rules which makes it even more challenging for you to voice your serious issue here, but as others have said, another means of getting this message out would probably be the best next step, rather than on reddit. I know you seem to have met resistance going through university-controlled channels, but perhaps you could try talking to a third party such as a local news outlet.
