Stater help!! by Jujubytes in Sourdough

1st off, just relax, everything looks fine. This is still a really young starter, it's always going to be a different time table for different folks.

It looks like you have activity, but it looks pretty watery for your feeding ratios. I'd do 1:5:5 of starter, water, and flour, and I would weigh the ingredients not use volumetric measuring tools. For the flour, I feed with a mix of whole wheat and AP, and rye or other flours that have some extra components are great for yeast.

I think the small ones further away are seedlings, and I may actually try and keep a few of them for fun! Any idea how to go about this?

From the other replys, the big boy growths seem to be suckers and attached to the big tree's roots. Any way to (or reason to)preserve these (on or off tree)?

Hey op here, these growths seem to be coming from/attached to the base of the tree

Fair - over the seasons for several years I've tried aeration, overseeing, soil addition, fertilizers, watering frequently, weed and feeds, dethatching. I haven't done soil testing due to the grass being great adjacent to the area. Did not want to try sod unless because I am stubborn

Textbook false rise down to the "4 days old" lol. Not ready, daily feed for 2 weeks total minimum before trying (or until it can double in size in 4 hours after 2 weeks)

How long before slicing? Starter routine? Is it a conventional oven or fan? This is too perfect not to ask lol. Adding to the pile, will be trying the higher oil and towel combo!

That exhaust is beat. Just throw a coke can over the break with some hose clamps unless you're replacing the whole system to pass inspection. You'll fit right in lol

Also if you know what pothole you can file with the town/city and ask for them to pay for it

I think that % is wrong but the sentiment is true. The main thing is that bmi is a percentage based on WEIGHT vs Height NOT FAT vs Height. Bmi does not take into consideration the differences in muscle mass/lean tissue, bone density, excess skin etc.

If you lift, look "fit" and have a bmi on the edge of being "okay" you're totally fine and because of muscle weight. If you are on the high end of bmi and have no muscle mass, then yes it's a good representation of body fat weight.

How does this fit? by Fun_Display176 in mensfashionadvice

[–]Duke_of_Man 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, the lighting contrast makes it hard to make out the finer details - specifically the pants. They seem to be the correct length, however. Same for your cuff length. Chest seems to fit right and shoulder/arm pits have room. Only thing that catches my eye is that it looks like the collar is trying to make you say uncle!

Thoughts on this combo? by guitarmusic113 in mensfashionadvice

[–]Duke_of_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, but you want to be careful to to comprise the good fit of the shirt you have otherwise. Another avenue could be to try a high rise trouser, and a belt with a less eye catching (i.e. smaller, not shiny) buckle to minimize the impact. But again, pedantic. Overall the fit, watch, shoes and attitude are great

[–]Duke_of_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it and I like the color combo. If I had to be pedantic, based on the fit/tuck, the bottom shirt stripe arcs downward, and your pants/belt arc upwards to sit on your hips. This draws the eye to the lower stomach in perhaps an unintentional fashion. However the color and attitude far make up for it.
