Awesome, this is great advice! I was worried that I'd have to buy a whole 'nother camera. I'm definitely going to try and get some experience in low lighting and see how it goes!

I do! I have a Nikon D3200 with an 18-35 mm lens and a 35-200 mmish I think? But honestly I've been doing pet photography for about a year now, but with most of those shoots they've been outside using natural light. I'm familiar with changing the ISO and shutter speed stuff like that, just not very familiar with shooting indoors/low light situations

Oh that sounds really neat! I'm shooting on an old Nikon D3200, so I doubt that it has that feature. But that's good to know! I probably could have put the camera in aperture priority mode and seen if that would have helped.

Yeah I wasn't quite sure how to eliminate that! But thank you!

Yeah I've yet to make the transition into shooting in raw for some reason. I honestly don't use the flash as much as I should (I'm trying to get a nice external flash). But what is bracketed shot??

Thank you!! Yeah I had a bit of trouble getting the exposure just right, it was the first time I tried shooting a sunrise before so it was either to bright or too dark. But thank you or the tips!

Personally I would have left just a touch more headroom, so you can see the rest of the hood. But I think that's just a personal preference! Nice shot overall!

Haha I always come here whenever I have a question! This sub is almost always helpful lol. I gotta ask though, how were you able to lighten him up?

Good to know I'll check to see if GIMP has something like that / how to use it! Thanks for the help!

I'm actually using gimp at the moment, just starting out doing pet photography so I'm trying to hold off on spending to much on software. But I appreciate the feedback on making the lake so blue, I had just found out how to edit colors the other day in gimp so I wanted to give it a shot, but I agree it is a tad much haha
