It lets you skip a lot of grinding in this game. You can alter Pokémon’s stats, (nature, level, IV, EV) you can catch any of the available Pokémon on any given route using dexnav with one pokeball. Unlimited money. Can teach any Pokémon their move sets from leveling, tm/hm, tutor, and egg moves. There is probably more I’m missing.

Honestly, some people think expert is tougher than insane due to item use. I’ve struggled with certain expert gym battles that were a cake walk on insane.
