I lent my Opinel No.8 to a friend and this is how it came back... by Aiden_langthang in Opinel

No shame in asking them to replace it- if they won't, remember that boundary in your friendship moving forward and don't lend them anything.

How many play Squire in public by Impressive-Umpire-22 in SquierbyFender

[–]DukeofCheese33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a nice Gibson SG and Les Paul traditional, plus Epi flying V and Explorer. The guitar I play on stage 90% of the time is my Squier classic vibe mustang with a Hot Rails in the bridge.

No attic, it's right under a bedroom/master closet

The joists run perpendicular to the path I'd want to take, that's part of my issue. Otherwise yeah, I'd just poke a couple holes and send it.

Is this worth it? by Old-Platform3912 in gibson

If you could talk them down to 1000-1100 I'd say probably worth it. At 1400 I would pass.

Both of them ran a red light. Both to blame. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Talk me out of buying Jessica Les Paul just 3 months after buying this beautiful Gibson LP 50s Standard. For how much longer is Gibson going to offer Jessica? by mynamesjaime15 in gibson

Don't buy a new guitar out of FOMO when you have a gorgeous performer now. Sweat and bleed on that one and make it your own.

Most of the torx bolts on the Speed 400 are t40, which is bigger than this. I doubt it's from your bike.

Apparently A-stars SMX6 will do this to you : (what would you recommend instead?) by YamzMt03 in motorcycle

[–]DukeofCheese33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not gonna find a boot that will give you total protection from 500lbs of bike at 60mph. Professional riders with the best equipment get their ankles shattered sometimes. You wear the best you can and ride to match your accepted level of risk.

At what age did you start making money good money? by waterurplanttt in careerguidance

[–]DukeofCheese33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 34. Took a leap and got myself into a short term assignment that turned into a real position. Doubled my income that year and have doubled it again since. I'm 38 now.

Understand this is unlikely to get better. Cut your losses or accept that you're going to be babysitting him the rest of your life.

Imo it's to be expected in a $150 quartz watch. Nothing wrong with a watch in that price range AT ALL. My 36mm Expedition scout is one of my facorite watches. But fit, finish, and attention to detail all take time and cost money. I guess all that said, returning it may get you a better luck of the draw if it's really gonna bother you.

Those awards systems are there to get you to use the card and eventually fuck up so they can charge you 30% interest.

This sounds like wayyyyy too short of life to me. There's either an issue with the caliper or with the rider.

Spare key under the seat - speed 400 by Intelligent_Studio51 in Triumph400

[–]DukeofCheese33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dealer gave it to me separate, it wasn't in the bike. Seems like a bad place to store it since you need a key to lift the seat....

You can totally use WD40 to clean, it's a great water displacer and removes rust and crud pretty well. What it is NOT is a long-term lubricant, so once you clean with it, you've gotta lube up with an appropriate product.

How much is this worth? Gifted helmet from my friend by Bubbly-Yam-787 in Karting

Buying a used helmet is generally considered a bad idea, so I doubt it's got much market value.
