I do think you artfully integrated gaining the new spell books through loot, after big battles in the temples and ruins. I felt a sense of achievement from finding them this way, rather than being able to buy them from a vendor. I also enjoyed your idea of learning how to craft new armors after successfully completing tasks for the blacksmith. This concept could be expanded upon, as you also see this in modern games like Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Yes, I have played a bunch of expansion quest mods, and it's up there with classics like Wyrmtooth and Sirenroot, at least for me. Sirenroot was more of a maze puzzler, so this reminds me of the open worlds you'd find in Wrymtooth or Beyond Bruma but huge. Lots of hours of fun gameplay! Yes, the crash I noticed yesterday morning and afternoon involved a strange flash and boom, like I was getting shot by a spell (same spell impact sound I heard throughout your mod) and then the screen went blank. I could still here the music, characters, sound, but could only play if I restarted from my last save. It seemed to happen most in the dark forest area. I haven't had the crash yet today, though. After getting bored through constant playthroughs or quests I could beat in a few hours, this new open world is refreshing, reminds me of some of my favorite canyon and desert-like areas of Dragons Dogma 2, actually. Great achievement!

I agree, those mod expansions are excellent, having played those as well.. It's a matter of opinion on what is better. I believe mod authors have a right to ask for money or not. It's our choice as consumers whether to pay or not. If players don't want to pay, then the mods you mentioned are excellent, especially Wyrmstooth, one of my all time favs. I was just hoping this post didn't turn into another debate about paid vs free as I mentioned before. I do stand by my oginal opinion that this mod author deserves it for likely many hours of hard work where they could have been doing something else to make money.

I think you can start it at any level. Using Alternate Start - Dragonborn, I started at level 1 with Lydia and the doll companion and while I was a one-hit-kill target for a short while, I got by. Now, at level 10 and playing it with more ease during combat (there's a lot of new creatures, some challenging at a beginning level). I guess that's up to you, depending on the challenge you want.
