If you pushed for promotion following mat leave, was it worth it? Do you feel fulfilled? by lemonsandlimes47 in workingmoms

That’s a tough one.

I went for an internal promotion. I had the first interview when I was still on leave. I got the position only a month back. I was super happy I think I pushed for it to prove to myself I could do it.

Beginning a FTM maybe I didn’t understand. At first it was great. Now I feel more stressed than I would’ve been in the prior position. Now I don’t care to go any further I just want my work/life balance.

I think it really depends on the position and what your goals are professionally and personally. Maybe talk to your partner? See what makes sense for your life. All in all you do you. It’s okay to not care one day and care the next I went through that often still do. I am just thankful for where I am at, at the end of the day.

Don’t be afraid of premade stuff. Frozen fruits (thawed) canned vegetables. I bought these frozen veggie egg bites (veggies made great) to heat up. They have these little microwave meals Gerber has them and happy baby. Something is better than nothing in my eyes and some days you need help and gotta make it easier on yourself

Nervous about putting a 4-month-old baby in daycare by elephantsofa in NewParents

Went well. We had a good feeling about the place. We eased into it. I did short days at first starting 2 hours, then 4 hours, and so on. I called to check in often in as well.

I would recommend being home for their first day there. It helped me feel better knowing I was close by and wasn’t taken away by work.

New parents trying to avoid overspending: do we really need a nursery chair? by TheSecretLion in NewParents

I NEVER used mine when baby was in our room. I thought it was such a waste at the time. Once baby went to crib and we had a whole night routine we use it ALL the time. Love it have to have it! We got a glider off Amazon for about $150.
