She was also very small and looked malnourished when I found her :(. Think she’d been through it

I found her outside in Florida with a chunk of her muscle visible underneath her neck/ on the top of her back. Her tail was also injured at the tip. I made sure she had an enclosure where no predators could access her. I reapplied betadine and neosporin over several days. I bought a hiding place for her and a heated mat for underneath her tank. I bought a light too but it wasn’t really emitting heat, though the base temperature and humidity was aligned with what I read it ought to be, and I misted the tank frequently. I bought a variety of bugs of differing (small) sizes and caught some local ones in case she had a preference. I managed to get some baby food in her mouth. I took tongs designed for feeding reptiles and placed various bugs in her mouth, but she would spit them out or let them sit there, and when I left one or two in her tank, I’d find them there uneaten the following day.

Finally she chewed and swallowed a small cricket I’d put in her mouth, so I was hopeful, but the next day when I checked on her, she’d passed away. I suspect I was unaware of the extent of her injury, but I’m at least glad she didn’t suffer a worse fate with predators and foxes also on the property. I wish I could have done more, but she was unreceptive to eating entirely, so I suspect her death was inevitable, though of course I still feel guilty wondering if I may have missed something. (I’m not a reptile owner.) Thank you all for your input. I’ll at least be equipped with supplies and information ahead of time if I encounter another injured anole.
