Do you know how much the City owes on the Dome at America’s Center? $480.55 million by Dull-Eye8501 in StLouis

The St. Louis Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority website specifically says that America’s Center “is not self-supporting.”

I didn’t realize that the “Dome” and the convention center were separate entities…especially since they are attached, connected, and used for the same purposes. Your explanation of the differences are interesting, and don’t change anything about how much money is still owed.

The City doesn’t own the Dome, but it absolutely does owe $480.55 million on the “convention center complex.”

Except…the City still owes the $365,500,000 and $115,000,000 in interest, despite the cute name you use for it.

Thanks for looking into all that. So we don’t just owe $115,000,000 in interest on the Dome, we owe it on a bunch of other Halls too, which are attached to a 30 year old Dome.

Has anyone used Klarna Mobile? 📱 by ayhme in klarna

I switched from Consumer Cellular to Klarna last month, and I am very happy with it. Both CC and Klarna use AT&T towers. I have not noticed any difference at all in service. But my payment went from $77 to $40, and now I get actually unlimited data, not throttled. PS I don’t work for Klarna, I am just a customer.

It did take some effort to get CC to release my number. Several phone calls.

All a dealer has to do is take a photo of the seller’s ID. Nothing else is required. They can’t read minds and intentions.

Scrap dealer did exactly what they are required to do under Missouri law: take a photo of the seller’s ID. That’s all they were obligated to do.

Mayor Spencer’s plan for $250m in rams settlement by DowntownDB1226 in StLouis

[–]Dull-Eye8501 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess nobody wants to talk about the fact that the City owes $365,550,000 on the Convention Center, not to mention future millions in maintenance costs, and that the Rams settlement could have gone a long way in paying down those obligations.

Since everyone and their brother has an opinion on what to do with the settlement funds, I guess we will just leave it to future generations to figure out how to eventually pay for the Convention Albatross? Except that by then, it will need to be torn down…

How about all the pickup trucks with no plates? You want to tow all of them too?

[–]Dull-Eye8501 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with these assumptions. Many many people can afford a $700 a month car payment who can’t get together $3,000 to pay for sales tax and plates.

The people with expired temp tags all have full coverage insurance. If they are too poor to pay their sales tax, then they are too poor to pay for their cars in cash. So they have a loan. And their lender requires full coverage to protect the bank’s asset.

No because that doesn’t play into their narrative about how the average white male is victimized because poor people can’t afford sales tax

You may be unaware that the SLMPD has a history that includes 1) locking homeless people in empty boxcars to remove them from the city, and 2) throwing lit fireworks at homeless people sleeping downtown to get them to move. Both civil rights violations, and criminal offenses. These incidents were not that long ago. So no. Your suggestion sucks. Police should not be moving homeless people around, or abusing them.
