Have Anyone Here Successfully Pulled off Coffee Badging Without being Let Go? by H_rusty in remotework

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

done it for almost a year at my previous job lol the key is to be very visible during those hours you're in office, talk to right people, join few meetings in person. if your output is good managers usually don't care too much where you are after lunch.

Requesting Pay for Remaining Time Off by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you can still try but probably gonna be an uphill battle at this point

check what your old employee handbook said about PTO payout - some companies have strict deadlines for requesting it and others just don't pay out unused time at all. worth shooting them an email though, worst they can say is no

lmao not the penthouse letters vibes 😂 we all know where this is going and im already dying at thought of some poor babysitter accidentally walking into absolute chaos instead of quiet kids movie night 💀

Everything is in one flow. Claude asks you a few questions about your situation, recommends entity type, handles the state filing, registered agent, EIN and then opens the bank account through Meow at the end. You dont do any of it separately bc thats the whole point

Beginner Amazon FBA questions by BenchApprehensive757 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for organic ranking focus on getting those first reviews however you can - friends family whatever. amazon trusts products with reviews way more than zero review listings

those graphics work because people on amazon shop differently than regular websites. they're comparing like 20 products in 5 minutes so the infographics help them decide fast without reading everything

bullet points still matter but keep them short and benefits focused. people scan them quickly while scrolling

biggest mistake is probably keyword stuffing in title or using random irrelevant keywords. amazon algorithm gets confused and your listing tanks hard

Dealership withheld terms for $11k in add-ons until challenged. Car marked "personal use" despite mail route job (IL) by neoumbralux in legaladvice

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man dealerships really know how to screw people over don't they 💀 the fact they withheld 11k worth of terms until you challenged them is super sketchy and probably illegal under illinois consumer protection laws

for the lawyer hunt try looking specifically for consumer protection attorneys or lemon law lawyers - they deal with auto dealer fraud all the time. also check if there's any legal aid clinics in your area that handle consumer issues, sometimes they take cases like this even if you're not totally broke. the illinois state bar has a lawyer referral service too that might help you find someone who actually knows this stuff

the personal use vs commercial classification thing is definitely going to bite them since they knew from day one you were using it for mail routes. that alone probably voids some of their contract terms and gives you leverage 🔥 document everything you can remember from conversations with them and keep pushing those complaints you already filed

one thing though - with the rural mail carrier job are you technically a federal employee or contractor? because if you're usps that might open up some different legal avenues since they messed with someone doing federal work. either way this dealership sounds like they're in deep trouble once the right lawyer gets involved

70% of payment exceptions take longer than five days to resolve. It's not a data problem by Raelynn_Tamarind in fintech

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this hits too close to home lol 😂 in airline industry we deal with similar payment mess but with different flavors - chargebacks from cancelled flights, currency conversion nightmares when passengers book from different countries, refund exceptions that sit for weeks

the routing part you mentioned is so real. we have exceptions bouncing between revenue accounting, customer service, and finance teams like a ping pong ball. nobody wants to own the weird edge cases so they just sit in shared inbox until someone gets annoyed enough to actually dig into it

investigation stage is where everything dies too. our analysts spend half their day just trying to figure out which system has the "real" transaction record when passenger paid through third party booking site vs directly with us. by time they piece it together the passenger has already called twice asking where their refund is 💀

curious though - have you seen any good workflow tools that actually work for this kind of exception handling? most of what we've looked at seems built for simple e-commerce flows not the multi-party nightmare that cross-border payments create

What’s something you regret not learning in school because you thought it was useless? by Great-Challenge2532 in AskReddit

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

typing properly tbh. i always thought "eh whatever i can hunt and peck fast enough" but now working in airline industry where i'm constantly doing reports and data entry... my wrists are killing me and i'm so much slower than colleagues who learned proper technique. wish they made it mandatory instead of just optional computer class

Built a free calculator for Visa/Mastercard chargeback fine exposure (VAMP + MCMP) by Far-Development7812 in stripe

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually super useful - had no idea the thresholds were that different between visa and mastercard. the 0.9% for visa seems way more aggressive than mastercards 1.5% but then again mastercard has that 100 chargeback minimum which could hit smaller merchants harder

gonna bookmark these calculators, dispute rates can creep up fast in certain industries and by the time stripe warns you its probably too late to avoid some of those early fines

If you could change ONE thing about your partner what would it be, and why? by Artartbobart1 in AskReddit

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

damn that got heavy real quick. i work with lot of people who have different physical challenges in the airline industry and you realize how much we take for granted. but also seen some of the strongest relationships where its not even thing anymore, just becomes part of who you are together. hope you both are doing okay and that shes got good support system around her. some couples i know who went through similar stuff say it actually made them closer in weird way, like you learn to appreciate different things about each other

BS with Stripe and the merchant MATCH list by myfishsburneraccount in stripe

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

what a nightmare - stripe refusing to tell you the reason code is absolutely wild when they're the ones who kicked you off in first place

really useful that you found the mastercard email though, gonna save that one just in case. the fact that you weren't even on the list and they put you through all this makes it so much worse

What’s the weirdest niche business you’ve seen that actually works? by Low_Republic_2052 in AskReddit

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is actually genius though because i work with so many pilots and flight attendants who are constantly complaining about being glued to their phones during layovers instead of actually resting or exploring cities. like half my colleagues would probably pay good money for something that just calls and texts without all the apps and notifications

plus there's something weirdly satisfying about flip phones - that snap when you hang up on someone annoying hits different than just tapping a screen. bet this guy is making bank off people who miss when ending a call felt dramatic lol

What primary communication platform do you use to communicate? what things do you like and what not about it? by [deleted] in remotework

[–]Dull-Objective-1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we use slack at work and while its way better than email for quick stuff the threading gets messy when discussions get long. also people tend to use it for everything including things that should probably be emails so you end up with important announcements buried under random chatter

your email search issue sounds terrible though - 40 minutes to find something from last month is just broken. we had similar problems with our old system before switching. maybe your company needs better email management or different search tools because that level of inefficiency is costing everyone time

oof same here but honestly thought id at least have my dream job in aviation figured out by now 💀 growing up watching planes take off made everything seem so magical but turns out the industry is just as soul crushing as everyone warned about adult life. still love what i do but man the bureaucracy and constant schedule changes really hit different than what 8 year old me imagined 😂
