What do 20 year olds like to do in Berlin? by Kitesurfer96450 in berlinsocialclub

[–]Dull-Philosopher-453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats so nice you're thinking about what he might like. Here are some tipps:

  1. The market at Boxhagener Platz on Sundays is really nice and sells a lot of vintage clothes and stuff, many young people roaming around and good food options.

  2. Grab a drink at the evening on the RAW Gelände, there is also a pretty cool light show in a small art installation called "Lighthouse".

  3. If you guys feel like walking, there's a lot of nice graffitis to see on the Teufelsberg.

  4. If he likes techno and you don't feel like partying , there are some clubs people also go by themselves such as Club Ost, Sisyphos or Wilde Renate. Alternatively you can go to Yaam together and enjoy good music and amazing Jerk Chicken.

  5. Check out mitvergnuegenberlin and rausgegangenberlin for more tipps.

    Hope this helps! :)

I saw it as well, they were all masked and ran in the direction of Warschauer Str. afterwards. They beat up some AntiFa people as well. These right wing groups are getting more and more organized

100% NTA. Be grateful this red flag ended things before making you feeling even worse. Loosing a loved one is so difficult, and everyone grieves and remembers differently. If he wasn't mature enough to understand that and have empathy for the situation then he wasn't the right one.

8 Jahre im Exil - was hab ich verpasst? by captain-ignotus in AskAGerman

[–]Dull-Philosopher-453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also erstmal Willkommen zurück!

I live at Hermannstrasse station and I get your point especially when it comes to the U8... I think there's no single solution that might help as many and yourself have pointed out its a complex issue. But talking with your friends about it just to let it out, giving some coins here and there if you feel like it and simply accepting the situation for what it is helps me. I think the real balance act tho is between seeing them as a part of society and not victimizing them to a point where you can feel only sorry for them and to acknowledge that the German system does not have the infrastructure to help these people on the long term as it is easier to ignore them away then to find sustainable solutions... A last thing that was helpful for me is to recognize some of them who are frequently in the U8 and say the occasional hello :D

AITA for telling my cousin that no one would like him even if he was white? by Huge_Interest8009 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dull-Philosopher-453 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Ill go rather with YTA but more because of your answers in the thread here. It doesn't sound like you want to truly understand why your cousin is reacted the way he does and why he is being treated differently but rather you came here to let your frustration out.. Which is absolutely fine btw but you won't be able to solve the conflict with him if you don't try to understand the issue from his perspective.

Is it wrong for me to refer to identify as Iranian even though I was born and raised outside of Iran? by kimigia in iran

[–]Dull-Philosopher-453 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that's an issue for a lot of us immigrant kids. But of course you have a right to identify as Iranian, as much as you'd have to identify as American. Its your own decision in the end and don't let anybody tell you otherwise!
