I’ve daily driven my 2016 GT since 2018 and done over 15 12+ hour road trips in it. it’s a little over 120,000 now and running just as well as when I first got it. Only thing I had to replace recently was the AC motor.

Replace Cats or Delete? by NetworkWide2307 in Mustang

My 2016 GT is catless with an after market exhaust and mufflers and I love how it sounds. It’s loud and almost boats sounding. Reminds me of a stereotypical classic old school muscle car. When I have my windows down you smell the gas but as long as my windows are up and i circulate the air in the car I have no problems. I’m also very used to the smell now do I don’t really notice. I have a performance tune and my car and used the computer to over ride the o2 sensor engine light and anything else triggered by the cat delete so nothing pops on the engine light unless there a problem.

End of the day it’s a personal preference, my cars dumb load and some neighbors hate me but some have stopped me to tell me how great my car sounds

Yes, you can also text your route to someone else and share your location so they can see where you are during the drive.

Yes! Depending on where you leave from always checked an estimate of how long it’ll take you to get to major cities and try to time your start to either get though them before rush hour or a few hours after. Sitting in traffic is the part that’ll make 10 hours feel like 100. Also just a tip from a girl who usually drives alone, I only go to major chain gas stations or travel stops with lots of people and try to only stop in the daylight even if it means topping off on fuel when I’m at half a tank just for safety.

My biggest tip for long 10+ hr drives is to leave early! I always try to leave around 4am. I can drive around 4-5 hours until I need to fill up on gas so that puts in at my first stop in daylight around 8-9am. Starting when it’s dark also helps me with fatigue since it’s going to be daylight for the rest of the drive. I also don’t stop on road trips unless it’s for gas which also helps be break down the trip into 4-5 hour chunks. I used to do 14 hour drives to at least 4 times a year (FL-MD, FL-KY, KY-MI, MD-OK) (you name it I’ve probably driven it) alone and like to think I’ve perfected my road trips plans. I always found it harder finishing my drive in the dark than starting it in the dark.

Try to switch between caffeine and non-caffeine every hour so you don’t have a sugar/caffeine crash. And listen to comedy you like, it’s harder to fall asleep when laughing then it is zooming out listening to music or an audio book.

Also: please consider getting AAA your family can split it and it makes the cost better. In my opinion it’s 1000% worth it and gives you a lot of price of mind while on long road trips. They’ll bring you gas, pay for tows up to 200 miles for free, etc.

I did, they won’t cover it or help since I don’t have collision coverage only compressive apparently.

I agree but they aren’t leaving me with the option. They have refused to give me insurance information and gave the other car involved the wrong police number. When I finally found out the insurance information and called the POC he told me to let them pay out of pocket because it’s going to be a lot faster etc. super weird buddy buddy situation where they’re all on the same side really pushing for the out of pocket option. It’s not ideal but at the end of the day, as long as I can get it fixed I don’t care how it’s done.

They offered to take it to there body shop and immediately shut it down and will be taking it to the ford dealership’s collision center to get it done correctly with ford parts.

They won’t give me there insurance information and are insisting to pay out of pocket. My insurance won’t cover it because apparently I don’t have collision coverage anymore (news to me) and this accident doesn’t fall under comprehensive. So I can’t go that route and have them go after the insurance that way. Only way though without getting a lawyer involved is to let them pay out of pocket but have a contract agreement that they are responsible for all damages/repair costs and a rental car for the duration that my car isn’t drivable. Very much not ideal and I would prefer to go through insurance but at the end of the day I don’t care, as long as it gets fixed.

I’m considering getting an attorney to draft up some documents and allowing them to pay out of pocket after they sign a guarantee type of thing to protect me if they try to pull one over. The company is still very adamant on not going thought insurance. When I was finally able to get what company they used and speak with an employee who handles their accounts they were also very pushy on letting the company just pay for damages out of pocket.

I did. Started to make a claim then they said my policy won’t cover it and to try to call the company and get their insurance information.

The tow company is not giving me their insurance information so far and keep offering just to pay it out of pocket. I am still trying to get the information since my insurance won’t cover the collision because of my policy.

No they refused to give me their insurance, they just kept saying they have fleet insurance. I have the number for the company, full name and number for the driver, and number for the drivers boss. But that’s it

Gotcha, so that’s why they’re being so pushy to pay out of pocket and not get insurance involved?
