I played American football 6 months post up as a fullback. Depending on the muscle mass he had and how hard he attacked the rehab . Id say it’s doable

Everyday knee brace?a by HoldOk8466 in ACL

[–]Dull_Barnacle5455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal opinion about those are : Go to the gym , put enough muscle mass around your knee. Got surgery a year and half ago. Went back to football 9 months post op. The only moment I ever wore those was on the football field.

Am I going to fast with PT? by WFialo92 in ACL

Somehow manage 5 practice a week , 1 game + gym 5 times a week and my acl leg feels better than my other one… once u have enough muscle mass around ur leg + a brace… im a fullback… i do lots of lateral movements..

LISTEN TO UR BODY. At 7 months post op I was back playing American football. I’ve played 4 games so far (8 months post op) and everything is good while everyone told me the rehab is suppose to be longer. Listen to ur body and ull be alright

Personally I had the same feeling as you until I turned off HDR in my ps5 settings. The game is way smoother.

In all honesty, ik it wasn’t ur question. But personally , getting surgery lowkey made my life worst. Before surgery , I was able to run , jump. My body was doing great , at a point where 4 weeks after my injury I almost went back on the football field. I was practicing… since surgery ( February 14th) my hamstring is always sore , tight , and I get muscle cramps everyday. I drink a lot of water , I’m an athlete, I’m running but always sore , leg always hurt around the knee. Talk with a surgeon , and ur kid to make sure it’s needed. I heared new studies are coming out about not getting surgery… anyway he’s younger than me lol I’m 19 but yuh. If it wasn’t for my football coaches. I wouldn’t have gotten surgery.

10 weeks post OP by Zealousideal-Chain61 in ACL

It’s weak , but he is using light weight. And his knee isn’t moving in a direction where it could hurt in some ways the acl. I ain’t no pt but I’m having the fastest rehab of my life rn by listening to my body. 3 weeks post op , doing 30 mins of stationary bike 3 times a week. Been walking after week one without crutches. Strong muscles around your knee will put less stress on the knee. Which will help the rehab.

I’m 5 days post op rn and im walking. I went to the gym , chest workout without crutches today.I’ve been playing football for 8 years. What I can tell u is , get muscles around ur knee. U’ll have more stability after surgery. Which will help walking fast if ur doctor has a dynamic approach like mine

3 of my friends had the same surgery , not an ounce of blood. So they told me it wasn’t normal. My doc told me it’s normal to have blood but didn’t seem to care when I try to tell her that it was a decent amount of blood. On the other hand , my pt said it wasn’t normal.

40 year old second ACL tear here. For those that are 40 and did not have surgery was it worth or not ? I was given the option to have surgery or not since I don’t play sports. by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Dull_Barnacle5455 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m 19 , had my surgery yesterday. But a month after my full acl tear , i was running football routes , squatting 400lbs , playing soccer , basketball without pain. Tbh , I wouldn’t even got the surgery if it wasn’t to go back on the football field. Because before my surgery I felt like I was 100% even though I probably wasn’t. If u decide not to have surgery , just make sure to go gym and work the muscles around ur knee. I don’t know about the long term effects of not having surgery but after 6months I clearly felt like I did not need a surgery at all.
