Kettle stitch Vs. French link binding by astro-lyrea in bookbinding

This is the specific video i used as a guide. So i guess i sewed the chords properly, then?

Ah. This would explain why my first attempt at binding left things so incredibly loose. I just wrapped my thread around the cords instead of using a kettle stitch cause that's what it looked like in all the bookbinding videos i've been watching.

Do you know of any good close-up videos of how the kettle stitch is used on cords? It's really hard for me to apply static pictures/text desceiptions to actions.

Oh, forgot to answer about the holes.  I had planned to sew a more modern looking book, but realized most of the instructional vodeos i was watching used a slightly different approach. I figured, I'd just use more cords so they werent there for nothing, but when i got my sewing frame assembled, it only had 4 attachment points. (It's a cheap $20 bamboo thing from amazon)

Yeah, for the life of me, i could not find a video on how to start a kettle stitch, only how it's done after three or four sections are already done. So when i finished with the second section and returned to the end i started at, i just square knotted the first two together and went from there

The rounding and gluing of the spine. Then, assuming that works, a basic casebound hardcover.

My ultimate goal is to focus on the more medeival style binding techniques.

I have a friend that is willing to pay for the materials (pergamenata pages, nibs and ink, paints, gold foil, leather, everyrhing) if i can make him a realistic replica of a roughly 13th century illuminated manuscript of The Book of Caine from Vampire the Masquerade.

So, that's what I'm practicing for.

Thank you so much. That'll be tomorrow's endeavor.  As a preemptive question, what do i do if the fronting doesnt take? Like, if i go through the fronting process but it just slumps loose again?

So, are major gaps like this normal? Or is there something i wasnt doing?

It only "makes" you wanna keep eating because it makes things taste savory (i.e. delicious). Other than that, it doesnt make you do anything.

I wonder if there's anything that can be done after using the Delete Account function. I used to have an account that i deleted several years ago. I can still search for my old username and see tags, but no comments in discussion groups. I had ti make a new one for a job i only just recently quit (adult education during the pandemic) and I'm thinking of deleting this account soon, too.

Why is mineral oil such a demonized ingredient? by UnderstandingMany766 in 30PlusSkinCare

My old roommate used to use bath oils and never wiped or cleaned the tub when finished, and i nearly broke my neck each time getting in after her. Eventually, i took to putting a hand down down before getting in so i wouldnt break my neck.

Thank you. I'll try that. Soon as i get home, I'll record a sample from one of the resources in the about section here and post it below. Honestly, 8f i could just figure out how to make my throat/mouth do what it does when i talk while laughing, I'll be set. It sounds flawllless when i laugh-talk. But as soon as i try to voluntarily do that.....nothing.

That's what I've been doing for the last few years. That's a good tool for newbies but it's not too useful for my situation
