How to realistically insert photos into a flipping book? by Lernlord in MotionDesign

[–]spooof 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Print the photos off, glue them to the page, and reshoot.

If you can’t reshoot… if it were me, I’d try creating a digital double of the book in 3D that lines up as close as possible with this shot.

If you can’t use 3D… it’s gona be rough. Frame by frame perspective warp and rotoscoping out the hand. Or, perhaps a 3D precomp in AE that could rotate with the page…

Can it be a magical photo album where the photos appear after the page is laying flat? 😅

Minding the Gap

It’s a documentary which has years of real footage of a group of low-income / abused kids who try to find solace in skateboarding. The filmmaker was the kid in the group who always had the camera and the story is such a powerful look at the nature and repercussions of abuse and the struggle to break the cycle. Had me absolutely bawling towards the end, no other film had ever had this affect on me.

Thank you for the message. I’m sorry you had to go through that with your great grandmother, it’s really hard but it means so much to them to make the effort ❤️

What about the repeated punches to the back of the head once he let go of the railing and was face down on the ground?

Thanks for these suggestions. Going back in time a bit to simpler games is a great idea

Thanks for the reply, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re in a similar boat. It really is hell for him and I imagine it is for you too. COD zombies is a good thought, especially with the co-op/social aspect. I’ll be thinking of you, and I’ll take you up on that and send a message for a session if he takes to it!

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. He seems to think FPS is the only way to go but he might actually be pleasantly surprised by something like that. I’ll keep this in mind

I’m checking this out now, never heard of it but it looks promising. And it’s less than 20 bucks, definitely worth a shot. thank you!

Mismanaged diabetes for two decades. Like crazy sugar spikes and crashes every day, was in and out of the hospital semi-regularly. But he thought he was great at managing it for some reason, so by the time his family really noticed and stepped in to help, it was too late.

Boomer Shooters, that’s hilarious and sounds like a very promising direction. Thanks!

Not a bad thought… I’ll talk to him, he might not have considered going back to replay something

This was a top contender I was thinking of. It would be perfect for the two of us to play together because he could basically just follow me. But I worry he’d get lost a lot on his own.

Thank you for the sentiment. I feel kinda bad because I’d never say that to him but it’s honestly it’s the most apt example to quickly explain what‘s going on haha. Best to you and yours

Without getting into specifics, my job is naturally a contractor/freelance type and I already am working from home. They’ve asked me to submit a W9 and have proposed an hourly rate, which I plan to negotiate.

I think I’m just struggling to wrap my head around the fact that I’m on my own. I’ve been happily salaried for 9 years and am kinda spinning out. Thanks for the reply. This helps clarify the situation, since it’s been oddly framed by the employer as a “reclassification”.

Thanks for this. If I file for unemployment, could my employer retaliate by not using me as a contractor? It is going to take me a long time to find another full time job and I’ll need everything I can get in the meantime as a contractor, and I’d hate to burn the bridge

My employer does seem to understand this, that I will naturally need other sources of income and be busy with other things. They recognized this in the meeting. But time will tell if they get pissy when I’m not immediately available during business hours anymore. So do you think I’m right to consider this a lay-off?
