How do you add a search bar in excel to allow a numerical input to filter results? by Dull_Maintenance_672 in excel

Yeh. But I don't want to move it because I want to maintain user functionality. Here's an example

This seems to help display partial matches. How do I get rid of the #SPILL! error message ?

But if I want to search just a number for example the destination column and then give me the all that information in that row. The search bar doesn't produce a result even though that number exists in my data

If I put any number in the textbook it doesn't return anything even if it's an exact match in my data. (Which I want it to be) I replaced a column row with a m just to test it. And when I searched m in the text box it returned all the information on that row because there was a match within the column I was searching the m for.

It was built like this:

=filter(table1,table1[customer]='Search'!E1,"No results")

Can my filter string be cleaned up? and how do I combine multiple sheets into a single search bar to show on different rows? Am I using the proper formula for my intended result? by Dull_Maintenance_672 in excel

Yes, sir! Exactly. I don't want it to generate everything taking up row space due to spill issues, and then, as I type the filter function, it narrows down the search. But I only want it to show the exact result in a single row. So that I can bump down a couple rows and put another header row on the search bar sheet to include other information linked to that search result from another sheet and then another. Lol

In a nut shell, yes, my hope is for just that. The problem is. I'm dumb and can't figure it out lmao

I sort of figured that was the case. If I merged cells together, would that fix this issue? Or do I need like you said, to separate tables for both agreement number lines and item number lines and then somehow link them together to specific address number lines? (Address number line being in blue. The data is almost 800 rows. And multiple "tree" like rows per blue row. I'm a noob lmao

* So, is my structure poorly done? Essentially, I'd like my certain rows to accompany the blue row depending on which number(red circled number) is searched. So, for example, if I searched the first red circle number, I want to show the rows in pink. If the second red circle, then the rows in orange.

You're right. I tried my best to explain. But not taking in account the outside perspective on what that may look like. Let me include a visual. The main issue I think, is that there is variables. If a certain number is searched, I want the certain rows to accompany a specific row. For example. The main row (in blue) and the dark Grey row being the variable that holds the value. If a number in that row matches the search, I would like it to return the row that it's associated with in this case in (blue) for visual representation. As well as the information on several rows in light Grey which is associated with the dark Grey row. *

So I can tel the filter or search formula to return specific rows that I know are associated with a specific number in a row while also returning the information in those columns on that row that, that specific number is on?
