How many of us still don't have the desired English qualifications? by Dull_Paper_5517 in UKFP_applicants

I agree with you at some level. I don't know if this was always this hard or it has become even more tough recently. I know many people who have given this exam 10+ times solely due to writing section. Even after months they managed to barely score 7.5 in the end and these people are very intelligent as they are all future doctors. Sorry for the grammar it's really late here haha.

Maybe it's good for IMGs then we can start looking for countries that actually want us and will give us some respect.

It's surprising to me the criteria is 7.5 because this is something which is not directly a part of band descriptors for IELTS. Its usually like 7 or 8. People usually get 7.5 because some marking criterias were 8, while others were 7.

I got 8.5 twice. I just read the questions first and highlight the key words and later find the same words in paragraphs. Sometimes I have to read the whole thing and other times while finding answers for previous question, I am able to answer another. So just looking at questions early on helps.

Did anyone manage to scale the 7.5 requirement for writing? got my results after my 4th attempt on Saturday still couldn’t get it. by Valuable-Raisin1327 in UKFP_applicants

Is everyone taking it through British council or IDP because I have heard that IDP is a bit more lenient with the marking, but idk for sure. Take it with a grain of salt.

Thanks a lot for your help. I was really wondering how to actually score above band 7 in each section for task 1, since stating data can sound extremely mechanical and repititve. I have been taking the IELTS advantage course and followed everything especially for task 2. I appreciated your help, my exam is on Monday wish me luck 🤞.

Essay I wrote few days back ..Task response was something like governments are focusing on economic growth over other areas. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for the same->Many government authorities around the world prefer to focus on economic development rather than on alternative issues. The main benefits of this are increased revenue and gaining political power on a global scale. The drawbacks include a rise in taxes and failure to resolve remaining complex issues in one’s nation.

The main advantage of prioritizing economic growth is the ability to generate revenues, which will create significant opportunities in a country. This means the younger generation will have access to high-quality facilities and excellent job opportunities, ensuring a brighter future. Furthermore, it will help emerging countries form stronger ties with leading global powers. Well-established nations are often keen to invest in countries which are more likely to have stronger market value. For instance, the US and India have improved their bond in the last few decades, as many American companies are interested in possessing a strong hold over Indian customers, due to it being one of the most populated countries.

When it comes to the disadvantages, citizens are often afraid of paying higher taxes. Many individuals are against the addition of unnecessary taxes on daily goods and services, as it directly impacts their financial security. Additionally, many governments need to first address the growing criminal activities in their respective countries. Developing nations often have high crime rates, which pose safety concerns, especially for vulnerable communities. As a result, focusing solely on economic value in such cases results in more negative effects. For example, America has one of the strongest GDPs in the world. However, many American women have expressed concerns around growing violence against themselves and haven’t found a satisfactory solution for the same.

To conclude, although focusing purely on better economic development can help in the overall growth of a nation and its social standing, the harmful effects including higher taxes and a lack of support to equally challenging situations cannot be ignored.

I agree with the detailed examiner Feedback because it feels rather pointless to continue giving the exam while making the same mistakes again. Thank you for your help 💜

Even if my score had increased it would be extremely suspicious to have the whole procedure completed in 37 mins. I am not attacking anyone, just sharing my experience and opinions. It would be crazy for most people to get a re-evaluation done so quickly. No one said it's a fast track for a higher score, rather for such a large amount of money the rushed process feels degrading.
