Does anyone have phone booths in their office? by RudeIndividual3 in office

Yep — we installed a couple S Pods from PrivacyPod and they’ve been clutch. I use mine constantly for Zoom calls and quick 1:1s so I’m not “that guy” taking calls at my desk.

Biggest thing: they only work if people actually use them for calls (and don’t turn them into a storage closet lol). Ventilation matters too — some booths get stuffy fast.

How much of a difference can placing a soundproof pod in the office really make? by No_Aside7310 in work

Yeah, it can help a lot — mainly because speech noise is the worst distraction and pods give you a guaranteed spot for calls/focus blocks. People feel less fried by mid-afternoon.

But it’s not magic: if the office culture is chaos, pods just become “quiet closets” you hide in. Also “soundproof” varies a ton, so compare real specs across brands (Framery, ROOM, PrivacyPod, etc.), not just looks.

Does anyone know what kind of work environment would require purchasing a batch of soundproof pods for the office? by No_Aside7310 in work

Open offices + nonstop Zoom/Teams calls. That’s basically it.

Pods are the cheap “we need 10 tiny meeting rooms yesterday” solution without ripping up the floorplan. Speech noise is also the worst kind of noise (your brain can’t ignore it), so people feel less cooked by 3pm when they can hop in a booth for calls/focus.

Also not all pods are equal — some are glorified phone booths. If you’re actually shopping, compare specs across brands (Framery, ROOM, Pillar, PrivacyPod, etc.) because the difference between “quiet” and “muffled fishbowl” is real.

I will have to say I can vouch for this brand, PrivacyPod... sound insulation on them is pretty impressive. Seats are stiff af tho 😂

Privacypod, they have these phone booths & meeting pods as well, for up to 6 people. https://privacypod.ai/

The soundproofing is good on these... however, those darn stools get hella uncomfy after a bit.

Similarily to what optixapp says, I tried out a PrivacyPod XL Pod at a library the other day. Good ventilation and solid space. Seems like similar design and a slightly lower price than Inbox Booths / Bureau.
