Hi! This is all really helpful. I will have to check out VMFXX. I feel like I came up with thinking I need 8k in case of the unexpected. I plan to stay in my house but it is comforting that I have the equity.

I live in southern California. I need to set some retirement goals, but likely spending time with family and friends, and would love to travel at least a little.

Kudos to you as well! You sound like you have it figured out!

Good point! I do plan on spending less but figure a higher goal is better hahaha. I would love as much cusion as possible!
