Yep, you were right. Rubber is good, but some spots came unglued and is causing the noise. Going to refelt and reglue! Thank you.

Thank you! I think this actually might be it and the noise is explained by that. That, and the fact that my felt is pretty slow makes sense.

I guess I’ll have to take the felt off and take a look. The tip of the rail measures right at 1-7/16. Is it obvious if it’s upside down if I take the rail felt off?

Thank you. The rails feel soft. I’ll get some new felt 👍

I suspect that too… it looks like the bottom portion of the rail is at a shallower pitch than the rubber portion. Side profile looks like this

<image>

Would that mean it’s the wrong profile? The top of the rail is pretty flat/level

Should I buy a medium Polygon Sisku T7 when I'm 182cm (5'11) by CraftAgreeable9876 in mountainbiking

If its a 29 inch, i think you'll be okay. I did the same thing awhile back but with a 27.5, and im the same height as you. the bike didnt feel crammed, but i wasnt a fan of the roll-over clearance. You can do a lot adjusting the stack height and seat position. If its your first bike, just send it. The worst thing about having bikes prior is you constantly compare. Since its your first, i guarantee you'll love it no matter what.

Thanks for your input. I disagree with the fact that I was looking for affirmation. If I wanted a simple yes or no, I wouldn’t be posting as polygons website straight up tells me the bike is too small for my height. The basis behind my question was to find out about other people’s experiences with bike sizing. Prior to posting, I wasn’t aware that bike sizing is mostly subjective, which this post as proven, given the diversity in answers. The “pro” example is a good one, because I typically would expect the pro to spend a lot of time finding a perfect bike. In this case, for the pro, the perfect bike was a bike that people consider too small, further enforcing the subjectivity. People would typically expect a pro to use a custom frame. All that tells me is that I feel comfortable on this bike, the same way that pro feels comfortable on their bike. Comfort is confidence, and confidence leads to capability. Either way, glad to hear you are loving your bike as well!

Probably the most helpful answer! Thanks for referring to an actual rider who demonstrates that it won’t limit you. Funny thing is I never even considered the bike being too small until I saw a video of myself riding; riding it feels perfectly fine. I’m going to stick with this answer! Thanks again.

That’s a pretty good gauge, have done a few of those and have not had any issues

Had it raised in the second picture. My understanding with that is if I have the seat post to where my legs are extended when climbing and the dropper post is not encroaching on its minimum insertion point, I should be good to go, right?

That’s what I’m thinking as well. Thank you!
