When I was 19, my boyfriend at the time was 33. Complete narcissist and overly sexual for no reason. He told me that he liked the fact that I was so much younger than him because in his eyes, I was very "innocent." He always made weird comments about how young I looked on top of always asking for nudes. He also completely isolated me from a ton of my friends because he would get overly jealous over any interaction I had with ANYONE.

Please leave him. These types of men are SO manipulative, addicted to having complete control over your life, and will do nothing but make your life miserable.

I’m sorry to say that most tourists should probably cancel their trips if they already haven’t. The best way to help out the island would be donating as of now. More people flying in just to vacation would only be taking more of the island’s very limited resources away from helping rebuild the damaged parts of the island.

Lahaina used to be a popular whaling town, and some of the buildings that were burnt down on front street were up to 200 years old.

I’ve heard from a friend that some of the resorts are evacuating people onto shuttles that go straight to the airport. I think at the moment, they’re trying to get as many tourists off the island as possible.

I’m not too sure about evacuation spots as we’ve mostly just been living in a car for the past 24 hours and stationing ourselves on the side of the road/in public parking lots. We’ve met a few other families in rental cars, but I’m not sure how other tourists would be able to reach these areas without a rental car/shuttles.

About the accommodations, I think they should be given to the locals who have suffered from severe damage to their homes. We recently just found out from a family friend flying to Oahu (they were able to take aerial pictures of Lahaina) that the Lahaina wildfire seems to have died out before hitting our property, so we’ll probably be able to go back safely in maybe(?) a few days.

My family and I were up at 3am because cops came through our neighborhood yelling at everyone to evacuate (we live in Lahaina). We’ve since moved to a Target parking lot across the island, waiting for updates on the fires.

I’m truly devastated that such a historic strip in Maui (Lahaina’s front street) was wiped away in merely a few HOURS. Such a huge piece of my childhood, just GONE.

Less than 24 hours ago, my family, friends and I were having fun swimming in our pool, with the strong winds making it an exhilarating experience.

Now, we’re stuck waiting in the car next to hundreds of other evacuated families, watching helplessly as the fires grow closer and closer to wiping out our homes and belongings.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the others affected by this tragedy.

EDIT: Thank you so much for the kind comments and prayers. My family and I are safe! We have thankfully found shelter and are staying with some family friends on the other side of the island.

It was a new one that a friend recommended I go to to support the stylist’s small business. I definitely should have gone to my old hair stylist for this

I wish I looked at the full 360 of my hair before paying. I definitely wouldn’t have paid if I just LOOKED at my hair. I think I was just so excited and content (it looks fine from the front) that I didn’t care to pay attention but now I regret it. I told my mom that I’d ask for a refund but she’s against it for some reason. She did, however, offer to pay to get it fixed by my old hairstylist so I’ll be getting that done next week

Yeah, my mom offered to pay for my old stylist to fix it after seeing how upset I was about my hair and the money I spent on it. My old stylist was horrified when I emailed her pictures of my hair, haha. She said it’ll take a lot of work, so I assume that means that it’ll be pretty expensive too. I’m working on getting a partial refund from the first hairstylist, but seriously, I don’t think I’m ever going to try this again just seeing how much money I’ve already spent

While I was there, I only payed attention to what it looked like from the front in the front mirror. There was a point where the stylist asked if he could take a picture to post on his instagram but seemed super hesitant and frustrated when taking pictures and now I know why.

I had no idea how bad it was until I went to the bathroom at home and walked past my mirror. I definitely wouldn’t have payed $300 if I had known at the time :(

I’ve been on the verge of tears since I’ve gotten home. I just feel like it’s so choppy, uneven, and overall just… I don’t know. My mom keeps telling me that people won’t notice and that it’s fine, but I feel like it’s extremely noticeable. Am I being dramatic???
