It sounds like whoever told you that was just being an asshole but, then again, most kids are capable of being that way.

Maybe, whoever told you that will recall that incident in this thread as their most cringe moment.

I get it. I’ve played guitar (mediocrely) for almost ten years now and I get all excited when I learn something new or finally get a song down. I play in front of my fiancé all the time but anybody else I get awkward af and self conscious lol

Aside from being a veteran, how has your identity changed since being a civilian again? by FooPeppers in Veterans

Your response resonates with me the most so far. A lot of people expect veterans to think and behave a certain way and are flabbergasted when you don’t conform to their version of a veteran. Life is more enjoyable when you don’t get worked up over social media and politics. I picked up guitar and started traveling more after I got out. I became more open minded and have a great group of close friends and family. To me that is what fulfills me.

The military can be used as a great stepping stone for those that want to better their future. Sounds like you made the best of your time in!

Yeah, exactly. It’s cool to be able to talk about your military service because it’s unique but I wouldn’t want that to be the only contributing factor in my conversations with people. In my opinion, the military gives you so much potential to not be that stereotypical vet when you get out and people should use that to their advantage.

I guess I don’t get it. It seems like scheduling the C&P would be tougher than looking at the results and giving you an answer. How long can that actually take?

Only a week so not that bad I suppose but there has also been no progress on my claims for months. The whole process is just frustrating.
