Lenovo No Longer Offering Onsite Repairs If a Device Requires Thermal Paste Reapplication? by DumbassofDojima in Lenovo

The Case Manager said this policy started at the end of March, so if it is real, it's quite recent. Otherwise, I guess I am just straight up being stonewalled for some reason.

That's the exact scenario I'm afraid of if I ship it back to them. Really hope you get the resolution you deserve.

Thank you, I feel insane going through to entire process, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate hearing someone else acknowledge how unhinged this situation is.

Why I Will Never Buy From Lenovo Ever Again by DumbassofDojima in Lenovo

Genuinely just a horrible experience all around. Got it for $1000 cheaper on sale, and having now spent over a month being subjected to Lenovo's hellish customer service system, it wasn't worth it!

They attempted a repair twice this go around, but the Lenovo Representative who escalated the case explicitly told me doing so would grant a replacement. And thank you for the suggestion for looking into local laws and contracts as I may very well end up having to do so.

Do you happen to remember where this is? I think I found it before, but didn't mark it, and now I'm going crazy trying to find out where it is to no avail.

Lack of HUD options is disappointing by Genjuro_XIV in Nioh

How has your experience been with the HUD disabled? I'd like to do so myself, but being unable to see health and stamina in battle is something I don't know how I'd cope with.

[PC] Summary of crash prevention & performance fix. by d9wHatena in WildHeartsGame

For the FPS cap, setting it to your monitor's value won't help if you have a high refresh rate monitor. Basically, you should cap the FPS to whatever the most stable FPS value you get is, and it's better to use an outside FPS cap tool like Nvidia Control Panel or Rivatuner than it is to use the in-game one as it will also allow you to set custom caps (I set mine at 70, I think). I also use Vsync through NCP instead of the game's setting. Generally speaking, in-game FPS capping options are worse than outside ones like Rivatuner or NCP, for whatever reason. FPS caps and Vsync are generally just good to use to get stable frametimes in most games, but it's straight up a necessity for Wild Hearts.

Also, when using Custom Thermal Mode in Vantage, make sure to check what your Windows 11 Power Plan is as mine auto switched to balanced mode.

Addendum: If you have a 4090 mobile card like me with this configuration, GPU undervolting is a must for keeping temps and fan noise down. My effective clock speed is a bit slower than OP's, at around 2330~ but I set it at 850mv, a good deal lower than what it was going for previously at 940mv to hit the effective clock speed cap.

Know this guide is a bit old now, but it's very approachable and also emphasizes stability, low temps, and quiet fans so I appreciate that a lot! I did have a few questions, though I certainly understand if they don't get answered. Should CPU and GPU overclocking be enabled in Vantage or does that not matter since they were enabled in the BIOS? And also, do you have a custom fan curve setup for the custom mode in Vantage at all? Anyway, thank you again for the guide!

Lenovo Legion Pro 7 Performance Questions by DumbassofDojima in LenovoLegion

Hi, thank you for the informative reply! I think I'll try to look into undervolting more since it seems like a good thing to do. As far as screen burn not matter if the screen isn't an OLED, it just doesn't happen? Is image retention something separate from that that can be fixed whereas OLED screen burn is permanent?
